anything under 80000 for either MCG games i believe in un-accpetable no excuses.
Not sure if serious?
That flies in the face of pretty much 15 to 20 years of MCG finals...
A once in a generation final notwithstanding

i have no count the the Bomber army will be out in force next weekend and can see them pulling at least 55000 of their own supporters out. North haven't played a final in Melbourne for years, hence you will have a similar effect to Richmond last year when every tiger and their dog was at the G.
Absolute no chance. A prelim final maybe not an elim final. Some where in the 60k region is my tip.
We drew over 70k to a 1st week final against North in 1998, rained that night too but things were different back then.
wonder what the crowd difference would be if the swans game was played at the SCG instead of the shite hole of ANZHawthorn v Geelong - 82,500
North v Essendon - 61,800
Sydney v Freo - 39,000 (because it is at ANZ)
Port v Richmond - 54,000
I agree. And I question whether there is much excitement from Essendon supporters about their team's chances, especially going on recent form. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I reckon high-60's would be a great result.Absolute no chance. A prelim final maybe not an elim final. Some where in the 60k region is my tip.

I think they will end up for Hawks V Geelong 84,000 Friday North V Essendon. 63,000 Adelaide 52,000 full house and 39,000 full houseI think 72-73,000 for Hawks V Geelong and 63,000 for North V Essendon. The Friday night match is the football purists match of the 2 being two real contenders. The Bomber fans will probably bring along 50,000 with a healthy AFL and MCC turnout of Essendon supporters for sure to boost the figure.
Predicting 80k for both MCG games, 55 or whatever the lockout number is at AO, and I wouldn't even bother attempting to tip the ANZ game, because I wouldn't blame any Sydney fan not bothering to travel there for anything less than a prelim. The sooner the Swans are out of there, the better.
I think we'll get 40k at ANZ this week, but if we happen to lose and play again there next week, look for another 2008 Elimination final versus North disaster where we only got 19k.
Looking back, that was really the end of great crowds at ANZ. In the 25 games played there prior to that final, we were averaging 48,338 across H&A and finals. In the 20 games played after that one, we've averaged 36,404 (I'm not including the GWS home games).
I know the surface isn't great but I still think the crappiness of the ground is way overstated. The atmosphere can be electric if you can get over 40k. I'll never forgot the games in 2003 where we got 70k+. It was absolutely insane. And the Elimination final on a Sunday afternoon against Carlton where we only had 41k had a great atmosphere. Plus free public transport in and out makes it pretty easy to get to.
Unfortunately there's a narrative now that says it's basically the worst place on earth and so we'll struggle to get big grounds there ever again.
All that said, I'd still prefer to play at the SCG all the time. But it is what it is - the SCG Trust has been absolutely rorting us for years and so we have to use ANZ to try and get some money.
as long as mike fitzpatrick is at the AFl the swans will keep playing the odd game at ANZ.I think they will end up for Hawks V Geelong 84,000 Friday North V Essendon. 63,000 Adelaide 52,000 full house and 39,000 full house
Its just plain stupid the the Swans have to play at the ANZ shitheap when the SCG now holds 48.000.Ill be surprised if the AFL keep the ANZ deal going much longer.
As we all know, GWS chairman Tony Shepherd is chairman of the SCG trust - OK I know they're the enemy, but he's an AFL man and surely the best way forward for the Swans is all home games at the SCG - and the odd final at ANZ but only if the expected crowd will be over 50k (which it wont be with Fremantle this week). The contract is till 2016 it will be interesting to see what the AFL does after that.

In terms of Collingwood's attendance's Collingwood again finished 1st in attendances
Adelaide finished first. Averaged a whopping 38 more people than Collingwood. What happens in September from this point on is immaterial; Adelaide are the true premiers. Attendances are, to paraphrase David Brent, the real quiz.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to return to my foetal position crying.
They'd get over 45,000, which is effectively a full house as SCG holds 48,000 now, would also give a 10x better atmospherewonder what the crowd difference would be if the swans game was played at the SCG instead of the shite hole of ANZ
swans should say to hell with anz, to hell with scg trust, and play home games at, I don't know, south Melbourne?
