With 10 minutes to go we were 10 points down. Hasn't been that way against Port the last 2 times we have played them at the MCG.

Pendlebury, Wells and a non-circus ruckman would have made a difference. That's the starting 3 in the guts that so many of you just want 'covered'. In a game where one team ain't playing for much and the other is playing for a potential top 4 spot.

Bucks is the man for the job.
Is going to be bloody incredibly amusing and gratifying when so so so many of you come back and eat your words exactly 12 months from now. Can't wait to be honest! I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to 'bump' a thread, but hey I'm sure I can learn.

Patience is definitely not a virtue in today's 'instant' world.

I love our club, especially our management at the moment.... That's because we give our blokes, like Bucks, a chance at succeeding!! Where, at other clubs, can a coach undertake an apprenticeship for 6 years then get afforded a two year extension? Surely nowhere!! Especially when the team finishes further down the ladder every year. My apologies actually, the two year extension has not been announced yet (sorry Ed).

You see, at Pie land we can recognise that a bloke can coach even if it takes 6 years to finally see their potenital! Luckily, at Collingwood, our senior coach can learn on the job regardless of results! Just imagine if results, or where you finished on the ladder did matter???

Some clubs would never contemplate nepotism, and their assistant coaches would never disagree with a coach, especially one that is a favourite son. Imagine the repercussions it could cause?? But not at Collingwood, we are run by an open minded and humble president that leads by example and one that encourages challenging the status quo! Our preseident would never ever put himself before the best interests of the club (just like our coach)and would certainly never want to upset someone that he wasn't emotionally attached to like our coach.

I'm also glad the days of learning the ropes as an assistant coach somewhere else are gone. Can you imagine having to get coaching experience at another club (losers) ?? I'm just stoked that Collingwood favourite sons don't have to expose themselves to this type of prehistoric process because I know that good players make good coaches, even if it take 8-10 years!!

Hmmm.. I think favourite sons are just bound for glory actually, you just have to look at the success of Heardy and Vossy! And to prove this theory outright, just go back 30 years or so to the glory days of when Tony Shaw was coaching Collingwood!! Yeah remember those days.. every other club was rat infested, except Collingwood!

I'm glad that Eddie McGuire has called for an internal review, because this will clean out all the problems and filthy culture we have internally (i.e. Gary Pert) and of course it will show that our long term strategy, list management and Nathan Buckley had no part in any of those goings on and will offer Bucks a two year extension.

Finally, I'm so glad that Eddie got voted back in as president, but I couldn't help think how funny it was that nobody of sound reputation went against him. It's almost like they were scared because they might get death threats, or perhaps of the repercussions they might of received if they beat Ed.

I know some of you may disagree, but yeah... at least I can sleep easy knowing the Pies are in safe hands!

Maybe just maybe because he has improved the team significantly on the back of last year. Our highest losing margin is 37 points, with our average losing margin at about 20 points. This time last year it was about 7 goals!

Was it the right move to appoint him senior coach at the beginning of 2012? Without having done any apprenticeship of note, away from the footy club? Absolutely not!
Was it right to have given him 4 different footy managers over the last 4-6 years? Absolutely not!

Was it the right call to axe so many senior players over a 2-3 year stretch like he did?
Absolutely YES!
With the exceptions of the retirees such as Ball, Didak, Jolly, Tarrant, Johnson, Davis, Krakouer etc...Who has gone elsewhere and got BETTER?

Can you include last year and 2015 in your summations when all of you must acknowledge he had a terrible, just terrible run of injuries?

So, my opinion here is simple. When the senior coach has improved the playing list one year to the next, and has their unwavering support, why would change? Forget the years prior, we all acknowledge he should NOT have been given the position, but that is not the mans fault. The board yes, but not his.

So with ALL of the goodwill and trust he has earned with the playing group, player by player, as well as the experiences and hardships he has had to endure over the last 3-4 years, which ASSISTANT coach out there, who has never sat in the bloody hot seat, will do better?

I know it is tough, I get the emotional roller coaster and I understand where some of you want him gone, but I feel it would be the WORST and I mean the worst decision the football club could make now.

Through both actions and by listening intently to the words of his players now, could not be further from what he represents as a coach.

Trust me, my view is incredibly measured and educated. Nothing to do with what he achieved as a player.
