Fact is you just don't like the guy, comes out with the FIGJAM mantra and grasp any chance to voice your disgust of him.
Even when it is him tweeting about a ex-collague driven to an overdose by the hyenas called media. What a compassionate and brave person you are.
BTW same media that are also after him and our players with their made up stories. Don't you think there is some vested interest or should we just bend over and get reamed by Robbo and Caro week in week out. Or wait till Womens Weekly comes out with another AFL scandal that has nothing to do with AFL.
As a person he was never a suitable coach that's why he couldn't take over a team.

Not quite sure you're the person to defer to in these matters

I think you're talking through your bottom hole TG:rolleyes:

Wonderful deflection but perhaps could you answer my questions?
You know it is the off season, our team just coming back from a break, our first match months away, another coach OD-ed himself and you have the nerve to complain our coach should focus on his job because of some pathetic grudge you carry.

I will defend your right to say whatever you want, even that Blair and Patton have a similar build , but not this time.

I'm looking forward to Nathan Buckley coaching us this season, and next season.

There I've said it.

I don't mind differing opinions but I'm backing us in to play well this year and our coach to progress the team.

(Note: I used the expression looking forward deliberately because I am, no finger wringing angst on my part)

There you go folks, I've just said my view for about the 365th time.
Now let all the other opinions go through the same, rinse, wash, dry cycle, repeat then repeat again

:D

Well IF they want Bucks as there Coach. They will have to play better

We will play better, Nathan will be with us for quite some time

Is it his job to tweet about James Hird? He doesn't coach Hird. I find the Harry O similarlarities very comparisive. Trying to be a hero and save the world. He seems to have a lot to say with his stupid smirks. Job at hand is to coach Collingwood that's what he's paid for. Needs to shutup and coach the club.
no offence but this is nonsense. boarding on farcical as he has a private life as well

What's the point of Buckley tweeting? Is it to prove how much of a smart arse he can be to the media? Smart arse off the field but doesn't have the players.
l usually like your posts tg but this just bad even for you

I am not so sure the media drove Hird to overdose. Perhaps his own conscience played an important role in that act. Hird was justifiably criticised on here and in the media at the time when the peptide's affair was exposed and Essendon players were suspended. It was after the overdose rather than directly before that the media became hyenas. Leave Hird alone now, I agree, but let's not forget our dislike for the manner in which he sought to defend himself from allegations at the time of the scandal.

I agree with Saintly Viewed that TG's comments are often as amusing as they are outrageous. I chuckled momentarily over the reference to Buckley as the Harry O'Brien of the football world. TG can be taken too seriously.

I got no issue with criticism of Hird in the past. My twitter was also still going on about the Essendon saga as early Jan.
What drove him is not something worth discussing. It all adds up, let's put it like that.
But there is a matter of privacy. The driveway reporting style is just not done.
Less said about TG the better.

I entirely agree about the driveway reporting. However, you were suggesting that the media drove him to overdose. I was merely pointing out that the media became hyenas after the event, not before.

Media were hyenas before that. Only dispute is their contribution to Hirds condition , don't think we will find that out anytime soon.

While the scandal was unfolding and when the punishments and blame were being assigned, the media was entitled to be hyena-like. I don't recall Hird being hounded since he accepted his fate and retired from active football life - until the overdose.

And the discussion is exactly how much hyena like behavior (by media and fans alike) is justified, required even .

Bigger issues in the world than James Hird.

Not really. Buckley is trying to be the Harry O'Brien of coaching world. Needs to get off all those crap tv shows and just coach the club to some sort of success.
His 15 minute feature on AFL 360 at about 8PM, once a week, is an issue and getting in the way of his coaching?
Considering he has probably spent his whole day at the club, coaching the club, i'd argue that at 8:00pm on a tuesday (or monday, whatever day he features) he can do whatever the hell he wants. F***, i'd prefer he did something other then coaching to be honest. Yeah he is he coach of collingwood, but thats not all he is. He is also a husband, and a father, and no doubt has some sort of social life. If he enjoys featuring on media shows, after hours, good on him.
Everything you have stated is ridiculous, are you even a collingwood supporter?

I actually agree with THATSGOLD. He needs to concentrate on his coaching. Piss AFL 360 off. Its a distraction.

I actually think it's good for him to be around Chris Scott.
Sometimes he questions Bucks' approach and even when he's just commenting on how he treats players, Bucks listens.
As Aishole said he needs do something other than just coach.

I'm sure he can do other things other than appear on AFL 360. I would cringe when I watched Bucks on the show last year. Robbo would just get stuck into him. This is a make or break year for Bucks. He doesn't need the spotlight. Fly under the radar and coach to the best of your abilities. Look and Clarkson and Beverage.

The chances of him 'flying under the radar' are remote and that's an understatement. The spotlight is fixed on any Collingwood coach. You've also put him right in the
I like the fact that Robbo has a crack and Buckley returns fire. Some of us have newsgrabs attention spans and don't want to hear anymore than a heavily edited version of a press conference where you can't hear the questions. I like the more in depth stuff and if Buckley gives it on AFL 360, good.
As for cringe. I cringed when MM would go off in pressers. Upon reflection, I probably did so because I didn't like him. Same for you?
