I went to the newsagent to buy me adelaide vs melb ticket, price was $22 for concession!

I cant believe it, so how are students gonna fork out over 20 bucks for a footy game??

Do the crows and the AFL expect students to be able to afford over 200 bucks a season to goto the footy?

Better start saving ya pennies Denzel, sweetie.

$22 bucks is a bit steep, isn't it?

GO THE CROWS AND GO SIMON GOODWIN.

I know someone who went to get their parents adult tickets for the Adel V Melb game. The tickets were $37 each!!!

Not being impressed by this he emailed the AFC to find out why the tickets were so expensive.

3 days later he recieved a phone call from Steven Trigg. They had a good old chat and Steven told him that out of the $37 they recieved 50 cents a ticket. The rest of that goes between Bass and the AFL.

Don't the AFL make enough money as it is??

How to the AFL/AFC expect an unemployed person to pay almost the same for a season ticket?

I am classed as a casual worker, and some times will go for months on end with no work, so I gain unemployment benefits. I have to pay for a full adult ticket despite the fact that I am a concession! I can go to bass and get a concession ticket but can't get one with my season ticket.

I think it's about time the AFL reviewed it's "concession" policies to make it far for everyone to go to footy!

Sounds like a damn good argument to support your SANFL club.

At least people can afford to get in and see some decent footy, I know the standard isn't as good, but it's not bad. And it hasn't been sanitised like the AFL, in the SANFL it is still a contact sport.

I reckon the SANFL is great. For 2 bucks you get to see a great game of proper football which usually is tougher t han the AFL, the supporters are more down to earth, and it has a proper footy atmosphere, not to mention you can have kick to kick or (well you used to basically be bale to go in the huddle) try to listen to the huddle at 1/4 and 3/4 time and after the game. It also doesnt cost a fortune for food. I find SANFL better than AFL...isnt as money hungry and realises the needs of the people! GO THE SANFL!

Macca when do the Panthers play The Magpies?

I think weve gotta do another bigfooty reunion, lol

And you dont have to go watch the game on a screen, while drinking out of a plastic cup if you want a beer.

The AFL increasing the prices will only cause a resurgence in grass roots footy.

50 cents from $37? LOL ..... That's complete and utter bullshit.

The AFL has set margins/percentages for its share of ticket sales (Australia wide), and its much the same situation for Bass (Ticketmaster).

It all comes down to demand and how responsive the fans are to increases in price. AdelaideFC has a huge supporter base, and as such, can afford to charge that price (and profiteer from it) because they know that they're still going to get roughly the same amount of people attending. Same goes for West Coast. They can charge what they want and still expect close to a full house, whereas in Melbourne, if supporters were to get charged that, we would see a large drop in attendances.

Here, if I didn't have a membership and had to book a seat for a sellout, I would pay about $12-$13. If it's not a sellout... it's about $8.

..... and I can assure you that the club gets more than 50 cents! Those prices are standard and anything above that is up to the club.... therefore give Stevey Trigg another call.

I spoke to the same people that paid $37 for a ticket on Saturday night and to sit at the other end of the same row from the previous game it was $13 cheaper!

Will some one please tell me what the **** is going on??
