He won a record 81 straight matches on clay and has won the last 3 french opens (has never lost a match there in fact) so i think he'd be up there.
 
Foxtel's great coverage of the tennis is making Channel 7's coverage look very poor.

To be honest I wouldnt mind if Foxtel could somehow get more coverage of the Rod Laver arena matches, as they do a far better job than Channel 7 circus act.

Even the night sessions, are delayed by some considerable time. For example if you lived in Perth, by the time they showed the Venus WIlliams match, Federer and Hartfield were already halfway through their game.

to Channel 7 : Any Delayed sports sucks! If you dont want to show the games , give it to another provider ! (same applied in particularly for AFL as well)

I dunno, like I said I'm no tennis expert. I just wouldn't have thought that Nadal would be the best ever on clay.

Most consecutive wins on clay (81) and three consecutive French Open titles against one of the greatest players in history (ie Federer).

All this and he is still only 21.
 
I really really really hate channel 7. This morning I was trying to watch the Aussie Dellaqua play or however you spell her name. There were ads like every 2 or 3 games. They show ads on the tennis big screens. It is really terrible. Then I changed to fox where they only ever went to ads like amybe once a set. Foxtel is absoloutely fantastic. Channel 7 is crap.
 
of all the free to air channels that cover sport, channel 7 is by far the worst of the lot. Crap commentators, try to get as many ads in as possible, and the promotion of their crappy TV Shots such as "Dirty Sexy money" etc make me want to switch off straight away.

The only decent 2 commentators on there are Jim Courier and Tracy Austin, the rest are hopeless.

Usually they have ads for the minute that the break last while the players rest.

THEN they show the set result from another court or two, returning to the play at 15-15.

Joke, a few years ago when Baghdatis made the final I heard the result about 2 games into the second set while driving home from a mates.
 
About 1pm Thursday, they had a spot on Vince Spadea who apparently fancies himself as an MC.

He was "rhyming" throughout the interview, while flanked by a couple of skanky blondes.

It was excruciating.

AMEN for having Foxtel! The only time i will lower my standards to watch Channel 7 is when Fed is on. The commentators are as boring as batS__T with Alexander being the worst. Thank god they wont be doing the Olympics after Beijing!
 
Hmmm at the conclusion of the first match on RLA, we've had commercials, highlights of Casey's win last night, interview with Casey, replay of the final moments of Roddick's defeat, sound clip of Roddick bitching to the umpire, Australian Open News. Now we're going to a match that concluded some time ago.

Meanwhile the match that was after the first womens match is well under way, heck even the Blake v Grosjean match would have been worth cutting into. But nope, let's go into a match midway through the last set that finished awhile ago between 2 women that are not worth watching.

* Essentially posting the same thing as the other posters above... just felt like ranting about it.
