Maybe make this thread at the end of the year if he keeps it up. Everyone can have one good game.

Not sure why an apology would be necessary unless one was writing him off completely as a trade or delisting. You don't just apologise for criticising poor performances.

Gone way too early with this thread.

Or maybe two years too late, you know when he dominated Geelong and did not much for two years?

This coming from someone who actually has defended him in the past and is a fan of Melksham.

This year he has held on to his spot in the team by his finger nails largely because we don't have another decent mid. I think with the quality of the players around him he should have been able to do more than he has until now. Seriously though, a decent player should have been made to look really good with Watson, Goddard, Stants etc around him, but it hasn't shown. When those players were not around him for the second half of last year look what happened? I think then we saw where he was really at.
So now? He has come on in baby steps this year and finally put in a quality performance. I've got hopes that he is becoming a "decent" player, but he is a long way off being better than that... Having said that i think Hirdy is correct in his faith and in another year or two he will be good. A year or so after he is good he will great. I think he is a bit of a slow developer but shows enormous potential and he is very lucky to be given the chance to develop within the team.
Tipping you never played real footy or saw Dean Wallis play his first 10 years....
You expect too much......you are watching AFL footy...Melky will win us a Granny one day....

Back it up next week and people will apologies

Back it up for two games and they'll be coming out of the woodwork
How long was Wallis on the list before he tasted success,
then how long was he on it again before he kicked arse in 2000,
some of you so called supporters have little idea about what makes a strong SUCCESSFUL club,
Time and BELIEF...
Support, if your glass is half empty....shut up, you're never gonna hit the heights..

This thread should be called "Melksham had a good game". I apologise for nothing. This game aside, Melksham has been frustrating this year (my opinion), he has not improved from last year (based on fact).

If he has a shocker next week and someone makes a thread based on that, it would be a stupid idea. (As stupid as this thread).

Good on him. I'm still hanging onto my criticisms of him, but I think he may have the confidence to turn it all around now. With him and Myers not consistently at their ceiling, and Heppell still to fill out more, there is plenty of improvement left in our midfield, which is exciting .... and probably necessary as Watson and Goddard's output will probably begin to decline after next year.

Been one of his biggest critics on here.

Output wasn't the highlight of his game on Friday.

His attitude and endeavour for the contest was back. I don't think it's been there for the last 30 games.

Very happy for the boy. Essendon fans always pick on one player and it takes years for them to get over it. Sure, he has some parts missing in his game but what player doesn't. Hopefully people will start to see more of the good he does for the team.

I would never apologise to Melksham anytime soon. Only 1 decnt game this year since he has returned from a broken hand. Anyone can play 1 decent game.

I'll wait until he has played 3 or more decent games. Still a liability and not in our best 22 at this stage.

In summary, some of the criticisms of Melksham have been over the top, but one very good game doesn't automatically absolve him from some of the legitimate shortcomings in his game.

It's just a step in the right direction for him.

Apologize? So the dude plays like shit for almost a year, people call him out on it and because he played a key role in that win people should apologize?

How about this...it was great to see Jake step up and I hope he can build on it and have a stellar second half to the season.

Winderlich's play was the game winner. He got the mark instead of Yarran based off of pure heart. He could have just manned the mark but he put in the hard yards and beat Yarran to the ball.

Was more aplogising because won us the game friday night

Still doesn't make sense. A good burst makes up for 12 months of average play...no it doesn't. Build on that and be more consistent, that is the next step in his development as a player.

He owes everyone an apology for being so sexy!
