Been watching today with the sound down. A few shots don't seem to be making it to the boundary.

Is there any discussion about the outfield being a bit slow or is it just the shots not being well timed. The last couple of tests the ball just seemed to race to the boundary, although MCG is much wider than Adelaide square of the wicket.

Carse has been the least impressive of the English bowlers but he's stopped a few runs hit straight back at him down the pitch that looked like they've been middled. (oops now he just misfielded one at mid off straight after Lunch but he's been good off his own bowling)

Revenge of the Starc

Before the start of play today, Junior & i chose a best combined 11 of the 2 teams, based only on performance in this series
Any feedback or alterations are welcome
1 Head
2 Crowley
3 Labuschagne
4 Smith
5 Root
6 Stokes
7 Carey
8 Cummins
9 Starc
10 Boland
11 no idea, no spinner

I have rated Atkinson & Tongue, so why not Neser as I write this while the poms are 4/16

Cummins at 8 off 1 test seems optimistic. Archer for his batting efforts could be 11.

Also Khawaja robbed. More runs than Smith. Better average than Lab and Crawley.

We did argue about Cummins, but thought his efforts in that one test deserved it.
I'm with you to an extent re:Archer
I reckon poms are inferior males in general, but that West Indian was like a typical English fop in the first 2 tests, but showed great mettle & skill in test 3, yet was still castigated here. He was fantastic in that 1st innings of the 3rd test

It's hard to take Archer seriously with the bling around his neck. Is he a gangster during the off season or something?

It's hilariously unlucky that after the Poms took two decades to find two 145km + quicks to bring over here, they couldn't get them bowling in the same Test match, or either of them to last the entire series. Meanwhile, we've grown them on trees for about 75 years now.

Frank-N-Furter said it best.
"Don't judge a book by its coverrrrrr"
I gained lots of respect for the "corn-rowed Caribbean" in that 3rd test.
But, 2 each there own.
Come on Jhye

A couple of batsmen that were out there with Stokes, they would play a flamboyant kind of shot, except without hitting the ball, and Stokes would walk down the wicket and say something, you would wonder what, because the next ball they'd attempt something crazier.

I don't take him seriously in any way.
When the heat was on he squibbed it. Couldn't take the heat of the day or the game. Had to be berated and cajoled by his skipper to perform. For one of their bowlers who was supposed to terrify the Aussies, he has given very little. His pace, apart from his first soell in Perth was ordinary. Was going to ride on Woods back.
