lack of variety without a proper spinner concerns me. Isn't this (one of the many) reasons we have bagged the Poms for thinking Jacks = spin option

Maybe they are banking on it not going the distance

He is a point of difference whose specialty is to BOWL.

If 4 quicks aren't working will 5? Cos that's what we're going to have.

Trav is no more than serviceable as a spinner.

I'm afraid I don't understand nor agree with the selectors.

We all have our personal beliefs though, for instance I rate Murphy and I've never really rated Richardson as a long form bowler. I don't think he represents anything different to any number of quicks around the side.

Murphy is comfortably the best right hand offie in Australia after Lyon. And I'd much rather the right handed offie against a side with plenty of right handed batsmen who love to cover drive with their bat 5 metres from their pad rather than any of our left handed offies. Particularly given the rough generated by Starc and all the Pom round the wicket bowlers is useless to a left handed offie.

Trav is fine we likely don’t need the spinner much at all. Don’t rate Murphy much just haven’t seen him turn it that much it’s a style that works in Asia though. We likely go forward in summers where we play a spinner in 1/2 tests out of 5.

Richo is a point of difference the extra yard of pace he has over the rest. Can bat too.

All that tells me is play the guy with more wickets. Rocc is also playing in a woeful WA side sorry WA fans but it’s true. He’s getting wickets despite that.

I wouldn’t have played either in Melbourne probably. It’s mainly get them around the squad for Sydney.
How does playing in a woeful WA side impact his ability to take wickets ?

Richardson is really roughly the same speed as Cummins, not as quick as Starc. An extra yard of pace is being somewhat generous.

I don't see the point, I really don't. He'll play though I reckon. I'd say Doggett misses.

Always should be easier as a spinner bowling with scoreboard pressure I means some it doesn’t matter like your Warnes etc but in general scoreboard pressure helps

They'll either show a bit of ticker (unlikely based on the tour thus far) or totally throw the towel in and collapse

They will all going full Trott after a few days

Has a yard on Neser, Boland though. If we are replacing Cummins he’s the like for like in many regards it’s just whether the bloke can stay fit!

I think you're right. They showed no heart when the series was on the line. Now that the Ashes are lost they might fall away dramatically

They couldn’t fall away much worse could they? The bar isn’t set too high
