Shield final rules change makes that no longer a viable option.
A draw no longer goes to the top side. A draw sees the title go to the team who earned more first innings bonus points.

A road makes a draw more likely but then also opens up losing the BP race and then being unable to take 20 wickets to win.
Do we think a road would still be difficult to take 20 wickets on? As we've seen, the batting is at a very poor level in Shield cricket at the moment.

I think it's a bit of both. Decks are harder to score on but when there have been roads you can see big scores over the past couple of years.
