The average man has less then two legs

Because no one has three legs and some people have only one leg and even no legs!!



This also works with other parts of the body...... The average man Has less then a full working brain etc.

So I'm better off than the average man...

An old stats question:

However an average can be calculated in three ways:

a mean-sum up the scores and divide by the number of cases-in this case the average man does have less than 2 legs

a median-take the middle point between the lowest and highest value-once again the average man has less than 2 legs

a mode-the most common value-in this case the average man does have 2 legs.

Now since the distribution of legs would not be normal (follow the traditional bell curve) it would be erroneous to use a mean. And since the range (0-2) is small, it would also be erroneous to use a median.

Therefore the mode should be used and the average man does have 2 legs.
