Thought we could put this here to see if there are any good deals on or any new good beers or even just pissed moments.

I went to the pub for lunch on Saturday and got home at some stage Sunday morning.

For a mates bday, naturally I pinched a few for myself

Wasn't cheap importing so it will be literally a long time between drinks.

Was a very full flavoured beer, very British. When the label says best enjoyed at room temperature I spose that's what you get. On that, the silly bar fridge thing only has a dial of 1 to 6 with no indication of which direction is colder so it sits at 3 most of the time and the beer is never as cold as it could be

Lowered the alcohol content quite a bit, and made it more "crisp" (ie, watered down)

It's funny looking at prices when VB and West End are more expensive than the "premium' "imported" beers such as Becks, Hieniken etc

That defeats the purpose then! Platinum was meant to get you plastered not taste like a Corona.

My friends like em but It's just a status thing. Not worth anything over $40 imo. If they are I might have a carton sitting in the fridge if some mates come around. Easy to drink and don't bloat you. But are the definition of watered down.

Brought a tap king on the weekend. Very nice addition to the bar fridge.

I'm unbelievably sucked in by this thing. A mate has it and loves it. He said it was hard to pour but I think he's just useless.

We found after the first night of tough pouring and at best 60/40 beer to head ratio, after leaving it all night, the beers were perfect pours in the morning

Yep, it has to be cold. The first night I used it straight from the first choice fridge and it was hard to pour. A night in my beer fridge and it pours perfect every time so ill make sure I have a few on the ready.

I went with the James Squires, quality is excellent.

Seriously tho, is tap king economical? How would it compare to stubbies in price?

Works out to be equivalent to 20 330ml stubbies. I'm looking at getting a keg fridge so I'm just doing an experiment to see if I can be assed pouring my own beer all the time
