Channel Nine is already making preparations for next year's season of The Block.

Producers for the hit renovation show have just spent $14.3million on a row of five homes in Hampton East, in Melbourne's Bayside, 14km from the CBD.

The classic brick dwellings on Charming Street were sold to Micjoy Pty Ltd, a company owned by Nine, between June 29 and July 1, reports realestate.com.au

According to the ratings, The Block is getting over a million veiwers a night, so this show is going nowhere.

OK so Omar & Oz quoted 129 cubic meters of concrete for the Tennis Court even at the lower end of average prices for the shittest concrete that eclipses the total money given for the gamechanger.

There is no way they can actually afford it even with the max 50% block discount. Where is the money coming from?

Tom and SJ are the only ones to have done a Toilet and kitchenette. What is the excuse for the others? Except for the obvious cost of doing 4 x the floorspace they deserve to win this room. Frankly if they'd just done one bay they'd have set the bare minimum for the other houses.

I think it's clear that O&O has decided if it's OK for S&A to go over budget, then it's OK for them. That concrete cost was something they knew about (they're not stupid) and did it anyway. Cheating if you ask me.

The whinging is getting over the top by the contestants, and a bit of cabin fever doesn't help. I think the first thing T&SJ will do when it's over is go on holiday without the other just to get some space again. The competition looks like it's putting a strain on their relationship at this point.

I'm tipping the big apology will be Scotty telling them they need to stay another week to finish everything. There's no way any of these places will be finished by the end of next week.

They were all crap, but the winner looked like hundreds of grade 10 art projects I've seen on the side of the road ahead of hard rubbish collection.
