The highest test score in Brisbane is 226, set by Don Bradman, and Matthew Hayden is only 40 runs short of that total.

Will Matthew Hayden keep up with tradition, do a Tubby Taylor" and retire on 226? Or will he dare to break a Bradman record?

he should, and i think he will, keep batting until he either gets out or his captain declares. Its a number, sure its a record, but its not the record that makes bradman a legend, no matter if Hayden gets it or not Bradmans status won't change, only a line in a record book(and a bit of deserved Glory for Hayden)

I think he should, no question. I thought Taylor should too, its stupid. Just because they have a higher score, doesnt make them better or more legendary. Records are made to be broken.

To say that Tubby Taylor declared so that he wouldn't beat Bradman's record is utter crap. Before stumps on the evening before declaring, he absolutely creamed a few shots, which, unfortunately went directly to fieldsman. A few metres (or feet, even) either side would have seen Bradman's record fall.

The only reason that Taylor declared the following day was to give the Aussie Bowlers as much time as possible to dismiss the Pakistani's twice to win the game. I don't care who say's otherwise, they are talking through their ring - Tubby included.

Edit: Immaterial now, anyway, Hayden is out for 197!
