NATHAN Buckley says his primary function as the new Collingwood coach is to build on the success and stability achieved during the Malthouse era. "I've been a part of this club for a fair while and it's a massive part of my life," he told the Herald Sun in his first sit-down chat since replacing Michael Malthouse as coach under the club's contentious succession plan.
"It's an honour and I understand and appreciate the great responsibility that comes with it. I feel a duty to the club and the people within it to make sure I do my very best to continue what's been put in place in recent times and also way back when."
Huge respect for the guy.
Hope he does well with his coaching.
Also hope that the media sharks don't have him in their sights at the first sign of a glitch because he is Buckley and because he is Collingwood

Anyone else notice how many articles that the HUN put out that are just quoting other sources? As in they don't make interviews or get direct quotes, they just use all the quotes from someone else's article/video/radio segment. Pretty slack journalism.As expected, there is also an interview in the Herald Sun today with Mike Sheahen.

We met at Buckley's Toorak home the day before the family left for a holiday in Bali. He was at peace with the world, but for the family dog, Skip, who wouldn't leave us alone. He was relaxed and talkative and, like so many young parents, so impressively attentive to and accommodating of his two young boys.
Sorry, it wasn't so much to do with that article, just a general statement with what I've noticed recently. Just about every article this week on trades they've been taking quotes from people on Tradeweek radio and rewriting articles around them making them sound like their own, and their article on Marty Clarke a few days ago was basically just lifted off the Pies site.What?
I'm sorry, I'm usually as good of a Hsun basher as anyone, but that was clearly a seperate interview given today by Bucks in the paper;
No problem, as I said, I usually bag that rag myself.Sorry, it wasn't so much to do with that article, just a general statement with what I've noticed recently.
