in my opinion shannon byrnes is amongst the worst premiership players ive seen play, he is only topped by west coasts rohan jones who is undeniably shit.

Byrnes is on the fringe of the side. I would like to see anywhere in any post where any person on this board has suggested otherwise. Players on the fringe of any side are in one week maybe a few weeks...and then dropped the same way. Saying you feel vindicated because Byrnes is out of the side this week wont make much sense when he gets picked again this season will it? That goes for any other poster lapping it up in similar poor taste.

Can you understand simply that Byrnes gets picked in the side for a reason...just as he is dropped for a reason. Please whatever you do and I mean this please dont come back and argue with me about Byrnes...why not just ask/email the selectors and dont waste time asking/debating it with me. If you think you are smarter than the Geelong selectors...well you are leading a very delusional existence then.

So here is the point of my post to follow and the questions will be below. Debate and BS your way out of it however you like.

You exaggerate about Byrnes to get your point across. Some of what you say is right...some of it isnt. So in some ways whilst you think you are being intelligent when he is dropped you also make yourself look foolish by getting some of it right...just as equally as you get some of it wrong. There is no balance to your discussion whatsoever. Thats not smart.

The second part to this is you have been asked quite plainly a question...is this thread in good taste? This has nothing to do with your point of view...its your opinion exaggerated as it is...but this thread is certainly in poor taste and you arent willing to admit it.

So I am left to assume then anything I say to you good taste or poor taste is ok? Fair is fair open season right? Yet when I have said things to you in your lingo on here recently...you react defensively and actually typed once something like..."I am not going to have someone say something like that to me"...

The bottom line question is... "Are you a hypocrite?"

The second question is..."What do you know about football the Geelong selectors dont know about football?"...

Whatever it is you do know about football, above and beyond the Geelong selectors picking Byrnes for the first three rounds this season and for the GF last year...please articulate it clearly so we can read it all just as clearly.

I mean I so get your point now...of course Geelong isnt trying to improve the side...but only you are...and your means of doing this is by starting threads that are in pathetic taste and demeaning to our own players...cool idea man!

Brent Prismall came in for Brynes on Saturday. What did everyone think of his performance?
13 possies, 3 marks, 3 tackles.

Overall, I think his efficiency was better than Byrnes' normally is, and therefore contributed to the team more than Byrnes was before.

Several people were saying before the match that now that he got his chance, he needed to have a cracker of a game. I don't think he cemented his place in the side yet with that one though.

Thoughts?

from the sounds of it there was/were a threads about prismal's game but they got deleted.

prismal may have pushed the pick we could get for him to a 3rd or 4th rounder after saturdays game.

seriously, prismal may need a few more games but i still think he is overrated.

Prismall was average but you cant expect him to come in after not playing last week at all and to come up against a team like Sydney to have a cracker of a game. He's not an "X-factor" type player, but i think he can develop into a consistent player who kicks a goal every now and then and uses the ball well.

Byrnes while is hard at it and trys hard all day just doesnt have the quick thinking and quality disposal that is needed at AFL level... IMO

Count yourself lucky that you don't have a seat in row C at Kardinia Park in the Hickey stand. Every home game we have to listen to a bloke who we have dubbed 'Whinger McGee'. He constantly runs down all of the players of his own club with personal and nasty attacks. I am sure we all have a bit of a yell to man up and yell in frustration to get the team as a whole to move but this man screamed to Mackie that he shouldn't have been allowed back into the side. He derided Josh Hunt for not being an Afl player and screamed that Gary was trying to finesse too much and should be pulled off the ground. His rant continued for nearly every player. When he screamed in my ear to Kelly that he should have been canned from the club 3 years ago I couldn't help myself and turned to him and quietly replied that Kelly is a premiership player and deserves a bit of respect from a supporter. His reply? "Pffft..he won a medal in a Grand Final that I could have run out and and got a game in". Whinger McGee is around 55 years of age and I estimate 120 Kilograms and enough nasal hair hanging out of his nose to hide a small hobbit.
So I guess no matter where we are we all have to put up with the McGee's of this world.
I just wish they didn't have the money for a membership or internet access.
