I know that's the running joke, but has anyone ever done it before? Multiple public comments/actions that accuse an opposition player of hitting them?
I think he's just desperate to prove he's not as soft as everyone now realises him to be.

Kinda pathetic that he's gone out of his way to get someone suspended just to continue on with his story of not lying.

I've been knocked out by the skinniest of grazes that connected on exactly the right spot. It's astonishing. It's also the reason that the head is protected so rigouously in AFL and all other contact sports. If he is defending the fact he went down like a sack of spuds, it's probably because he did, because he copped one in the right/wrong spot.... just saying.

Except the player himself said that's not what happened.

“I sort of pushed him and I sort of went to go the other way and he sort of clipped me and it just scared me a little bit and I sort of fell over,” Oliver said.

“I probably shouldn’t have fallen over, but I was just sort of scared.

The Eagles think that Oliver is an olympic level diver so they will contesting. Outcome will tell us if the AFL has become a complete farce. Either way Oliver has now tarnished his rep by acting like a petulant child.
Could be a risky move. Don't they realise that Schofield scared Oliver?

I am serious. He was hit outside the time in which the game was being played. I don't care who you think he went down like, that's not on. It's assault is what it is, and the only reason it hasn't been called that is because they were wearing colourful jumpers.

Oh dear...

"If the outcome is not one I agree with then the system is wrong."

I will be interested in hearing the arguments for and against. I wonder if Schofield will argue for careless or insufficient force. I hope the medical report is made public, and the two umpires who witnessed the incident and gave the report get to say their views.

See, these twitter photos would actually be funny if he'd admitted that he was staging in the heat of the moment and told the team doctors that he was fine. Then Schofield walks away with a fine or nothing.

Instead he's put Schofield at risk of a suspension and forced Schofield to defend himself to avoid a suspension, which crosses the line from "funny trolling" to "just being an a-hole."

Schofield put himself at risk of suspension when he elbowed a bloke in the jaw.

You're going to be pretty embarrassed when the medical report consists of "player has a sore jaw because player says he has a sore jaw," much in the way that Ferris Bueller was too sick to go to school because he had a "fever."

You've already posted that about 30 times in this thread; now it's just repetitive and boring.

If you want to defend a guy acting like a complete and utter tool, that's on you. Pro tip, it's not a great look. Just say "he's a great young player, I don't care if he's a tosser" and move on.

Wont be embarrassed at all. I give Oliver the benefit of the doubt for the same reason I gave Crouch the benefit of the doubt after the Hawkins hit. There is no way of knowing what kind of impact was made by video footage alone. I honestly look forward to seeing it if it's made available, will shed a lot of light on the topic. But I still believe the possibility that even a glancing elbow to the jaw could put someone down. There's a reason Boxers protect their chins, it is a weak point. I've seen footage of Boxers KO'd after receiving similarly innocuous hits.

I keep posting it because it's true. Intentional, high hits have been on the agenda all year, throwing one is ill-disciplined. Oliver going to ground has no impact on the suspension whatsoever. Ben Cunnington did not get suspended after he gut punched Bernie Vince sending him dry-retching on the bench. The medical report is the only thing that matters and if it shows that there was any blood or bruising then its going to come back to bite him.
