I actually look forward to it. It's become a novelty item. I was making bets with my father as to when we'd first hear it.

Expected it to come in the first half, but I guess Collingwood fiddled about for too long.

In general, Collingwood games are the most fun crowd atmosphere to be in, specifically because of the expectation for the chant.

The only thing I'd say, as a foreigner, is that it's a bit tacky to have it in the club promo videos on the big screen. Makes it a bit corporate and lame. Then again... it's better than the bloody "Red Energy Meter"...

Noticed Hawthorn "supporters" are now chanting "Breust" in a similar fashion to our "Tooves" calls... that's annoying! How long before we hear a "HAWTHOOOOOORN HAWWWWWKS"? Hopefully never, but Lord knows they will do anything to fein the CFC passion/power.

I'm with domus re the chants; no need for formalised chants as too much happens in a game of AFL. Seems to me that long, choreographed chants only work in games where sh*t all happens for half the game/pommy d*ckheads have too much time on their hands - i.e. soccer and cricket (both of which I follow, btw). Not sure they would work in AFL.

Well we took "Toovs" from "Kreuz" from Carlton and before that there was "Coon" from the Bulldogs. Not sure of anymore that goes further than that,

I dig that chant Syphoncom. Imagine getting the entire crowd singing it in unison, as we manage to do with the chant.

I'm still keen to hear the "Collingwood in the House" rap that was discussed in another thread... Someone pls post a vid if you see that performer again!

correction: ive lived in england and know a fair bit about EPL.

the supporters there arnt more passionate, they simpley start chants in dull moments of play because the game goes stale and they want it to heat up. its mainly a boredom thing and not a "we love our team more" thing

*edit not to mention the stadiums there are WAY smaller and because each team has their own home ground they are filled with only 1 set of supporters which makes the chant way more easier.

Well one thing that would be cool that comes from Soccer are the banners, went to a Heart vs Victory games a couple times and the banners in the cheersquad are amazing.

I think our collingwoood chant is good the way it is, it's just part of the atmosphere at the footy. Drowning out the opposition, and annoying the hell out of them too. The chant doesn't seem to bother our players, and it shouldn't either, we're just singing our praises. The collingwood **clap clap clap/ bang bang bang (with your flag)** is more after a goal. I love the filthy looks we get from the opposition supporters when we do the collingwoooood one, it's absolute gold!

Exactly they hate us and we hate them more.
