Why do I find myself believing it's true Yesterday, noone thought Brock would leave (especially by choice!!!), but he has, and that has led me to believe that anything is possible. The poster, can't remember who they were and can't find the thread, who claimed to have spoken to a drunken Connolly said that CC claimed that there were more First Rounders to come. With pick 11 on the way, could we be considering trading? I doubt we would want to trade the guy who is arguably our best player but what if he wants to leave?? Can't see why he would with his mates Aussie and Jurrah but he also may want to play with his cousin Corrie (who collingwood supporters think will get the chop, incidentally) or Alwyn. A day ao i would have laughed this off, but now I'm worried. If he has his heart set on leaving then it must be for a top 5 pick!! Even so, DON'T LEAVE AARON!!

Davey will not/should not/can not leave.

Even if he wants to go (which I don't believe), we should ask a Judd-like deal, and when it gets knocked back, re-draft him in the PSD. There's no club that could offer him more so we can't get priced out in the PSD.

If he doesn't want to represent your club there is no forcing him, and even if you tried that cant be healthy for the club.

that doesn't happen too often.. I believe if a player wants out of a footy club whether it be for money, personality clash or doesn't like the culture you should just let them go and try make the best out of it. No point in trying to convince someone to love the club if they don't enjoy being there.

Lovett and pick 26 is more likely. Not a hope in hell of getting pick 10 and 26 for Davey.

I doubt very highly Davey would be traded. He is the mentor for all our young indigenous players and the coaching staff would want him around. Particularly now that Whelan has retired.

The thread on the main page of this site is someone saying there are "reports" of Davey leaving. Without giving any reports or links.

The thread on Demonland points to the BF thread, and says "Some twit over on Big footy is saying that its basically a done deal that Davey is going to Collingwood for their first round pick and Chris Dawes." That twit seems to have just thrown that up there in hope that it might come true.

I really don't see any reason for people to get worried until something of substance is put out there.

Nevertheless, it's never good to have a player of Davey's calibre not signed up this close to trade week. Obviously there is a sticking point in the contract talks, surely we have all the money in the world to sign him up, and he's got every right to ask for it after the year he has had.

I don't want a situation like Green last year where his future is still up in the air come the last day of Trade Week. Whether he is close to a move or not, the papers will be all over it if he is still uncontracted.

Surely the club could issue a statement, with Aaron, saying there's no chance of him leaving, its just a matter of finalising a few things. The silence is more worrying than anything else.

I don't place any stock in that rumour about Davey... seems like a lot of hot air from what I can see.

If Davey leaves I will be institutionalised. We can't replace a player like that. He is invaluable to our group. Make the boy captain and give him all the money we can. Hopefully we've learnt from the Woey-Powell year.

Couldn't agree with you more! It seems some toothless collingwood supporter wanted to be a hero behind his pc and stir the pot. People forget Davey urged BP to go have a look at Jurrah and try to convince his brother Alwyn to join us.

Aaron Davey WILL be at the Dees in 2010 and beyond!
