Simply out of interest, why would it not appeal to you? I can understand people not wanting to post updates, but I can't see how it's a bad thing to remain in touch with subjects that interest you.

Your footy club, news, any shops or brands that you like. It's like receiving a targeted feed of things that are relevant in your life. Sure, there's a lot of shit on Twitter, but you can pick and choose what to follow.

People love to knock it, but a lot can be said for delivering you content that you enjoy.

There is no way I would be posting updates. I don't want to know what someone else is doing every waking moment of the day so I am not going to bore other people with that information. In relation to celebrity's I would rather know what the bloke next door thinks about something than what some self important wanka thinks.

As for remaining in touch with subjects that interest me, I already do. If I want information about something I will get on the web and look for it. I don't need tons of useless stuff on the odd chance there is something good once in a while.

In terms of having my football club and airlines and all that providing me with information. I already receive emails (which 99% of the time I delete without reading anyway) so why would I want more?

I'm not one of those people that can't survive 10 minuets without their phone or some form of technology. In fact I probably think life would be a little better if we had less of it. I've read through this thread and nothing has changed my view as yet.

I have two accounts. One for personal stuff and one for jobs/marketing.

Having a problem missing tweets if I don't check twice a day. I tend to check Twitter on my iPhone rather than my PC, but if I go 15 hours or more without checking, I miss a bunch of tweets. Anyone use an RSS aggregator for Twitter of is there any other solution to never miss a tweet?

What if I didn't check for a week? I'd want to spend an hour or so catching up, but I can't do that if my Twitter program only shows the last 12 or so hours of tweets.

:confused::confused::confused:

just want to doublecheck something (i'm hopeless at this stuff) - once you've registered your twitter with your facebook as an app. (done that) - when you're on twitter, be it mobile or at the computer, is #fb the only thing you have to do transfer your twitter update across to your facebook status update? thanks.

Love twitter, following @gmp24_2 which is a Police twitter account in the UK and they are tweeting every job they attend for the next 24hrs, some of the calls they get are utterly stupid!

Bump, been using this for a bit now.

Currently admiring convos between victoria azarenka and wozniacki.

Yeah stalking, umad?

Worst sporting tweeters :
S Warne - Warnie uses 90% of his tweets to either advertise his latest underwear range, advertise his latest poker event or to have a conversation with M Clarke with them both calling each other mate/buddy and saying they will catch up soon. Warnie misses the whole point of twitter and never says anything interesting

Lebron James - I've actually deleted him now as it was so boring and contrived.

Best Sporting Tweeters
Andrew Bogut - talks about things other than basketball, interacts with his audience and gives you stuff that the mainstream media don't have - which is the whole point of twitter.

Janko Tipsaravic - tennis player who is pretty funny.

Ian Poulter - golfer who gives plenty

Karmichael Hunt - has really embraced twitter and is quite a thoughtful guy which you wouldn't know from what you see in the media. He is probably the best AFL twitterer out there.

Shows promise
Gary Ablett Jnr - has only just started but rarely talks AFL and gives us a glimpse of his world.

Harry O'Brien, Kane & Chad Cornes - The Cornes brothers actually seem quite funny (who would have known it) whilst Harry O doesn't tweet that much but when he does it is generally interesting.

Twitter is better than Facebook.
Facebook is an absolute load of shit these days. 1 in 50 statuses are interesting.
Having said that I still check it every couple of hours.

But Twitter is great for news. I joined to follow a few people in relation to AFL trade week and didn't plan on continuing on. But now I follow about 120 people.

Keeps me up to date with what's going on at training down at the CFC which can be interesting.

I can follow all the latest MLB, EPL, NBA news all in 1 convenient location.

I don't actually follow anyone I know personally.

Yeah, Im on twitter a fair bit. Its solid for news etc. Always good for a laugh too, some funny, lesser known comedians on there such as Alec Sulkin and Chris D'elia.

Hit me up, @chrisroww.

Paul Pierce wrote after the Miami game 'It has been a pleasure to bring my talents to Miami'

Haha wouldn't suprise me, the NBA players are off the hook on Twitter, Bogut sometimes says stuff which could get him in trouble imo
