What a small individual one is to detract from this superb effort and great race.

Hahhaha i didnt deny this was a great effort but they watered the track down too much. Why didnt they go through the normal routine?FIGJAM said:...and the track was still harder than a co(k in a hen house!
YOTC said:Phar Lap died young, probably because of all his travelling. I think he could have won 3, especially if he was carrying 58kgs.

2) I said it was overreacted to. Nearly evryone in the room I was in were laughing at some of the things being said. It was a great achievment I am sure, but in my view does not rate with the great human sporting achievements.
3) Fair call. I am not perfect though![]()
Yeah, getting money from Tooheys, Emirates, gate attendences, dining etc. would be impossible. The average trainer may have to downsize from an S-Class Merc to an E-Class, but it'd hardly not be.Jars458 said:1) I think that statement is hard to deny. No doubt you agreed with Bruce batting off over your 97 & 98 wins, and there is unequivocally no doubt that todays event was infinitely better than those "human sporting achievements". Again, if he was excited today, it's because there was something better than your average event, no matter where you classify horse racing in your rankings.Jars458 said:2) I said it was overreacted to. because it was hotter than normal? they try to prepare a track that's good - dead for the melbourne cup, every year. This year the track was dead in the morning and dried out to be 'good' by the time the race was run. Diva prefers dead - slow, so I can't see how it was doctored to suit her, they just prepared the track to how the VRC has wanted it every year.YOTC said:Hahhaha i didnt deny this was a great effort but they watered the track down too much. If the handicapper actually did his job and gave her 65-68kg in the cup then i guarantee you she would not win a 4th cup. If they give a written invitation AGAIN by giving her anything under 62kg then she would be a fair chance.starz said:I honestly believe Makybe Diva can go around for another year and win a fourth Melbourne Cup.
