Unlike so many other losses, it is hard to rev myself back up, to say now, that 'we will bounce back'. Whatever happens next week, it feels like we have been massively exposed. I didn't necessarily think we would win last night, but the cruellest thing is the feeling all our critics were right, about a lack of quality in far too many areas.

I walked away knowing this team is far off a premiership and that short term fixes will not bring us even close to the powerhouse i saw last night. I feel sorrow for all the loyal people who I saw walking out with blank faces because their dream had been smashed to bit and they had wanted to believe this year it could be different.

I know there have been many posts on all these subjects but this is how I see it:

Those that showed they are not of the standard that will ever win us a premiership: Eagleton/Ray/Welsh/Callan. We have had valuable games from these players, but their lack of quality and poise was there for all to see.

Those with a giant question mark about how much they can improve and whose current level is not good enough: Minson/Lake/Harbrow.

Nearing the end; johnno/aker/west

'Will they ever fufil their potential' category? Higgins. Williams (due to injury). Everitt.

We werent good enough last night. Two bad fadeouts in the second half of consecutive seasons. A big loss of faith in Eade for me. The fitness staff and the training load? we have been flat for weeks.

But, our club is our club. I feel even sadder to read posts saying people are giving up supporting the team. It's your decision people, but I just can't shake the love I have for the club.

It's over for this year. I guess I'll be back dreaming & hoping next year. And the year after that.

Bit harsh on Eagleton. He is one of the reasons for such a good year for the dogs. No doubt the Hawks identified him as a threat last night and collared (sorry for the pun) him pretty well. You guys will miss him when he goes.

Why would you include Callan in this bunch. He didnt do much wrong last night ...... kept Williams goaless and just 6 disposals.

BOLLOCKS!

We are playing next week mate, so as long as we are playing, the dream is very much alive.

we won't be on the soup on Monday like a few other teams will be, we can bounce back and we will beat Sydney/North next week.

COME ON DOGGIES!!
