Where are the mods? Mentioning anyone other than Royce Hart as the games greatest CHF should be worth a 2 week suspension from this board.

1980GF, Royce only played 4 reserves games in his career, don't think any were in his final years but he did play injured for a good part the last 4- 5 years of his career.

As for Carey, wasn't he an assistant at collingwood for a while?

Wouldn't want that arseh*le anywhere near our club or players. Pisses me off anyone would even suggest it.

:thumbsd:

that scum bad can go **** off and fade away.

If the only thing you need to be a good forward coach is to be a good foward player, Just ask Richo. better player, better guy:thumbsu:

Cheers for that mate. Memories from that young are very hazy.

Do remember people in the crowd lamenting how he was almost immobile in that last year.

As for the Carey question. Yes he was. For BIG money for a year on a part time basis and he ended up apologising to Maguire only recently on radio for his heart not being in it.

Yeah lets give money to a bloke who wasnt interested in us when looking for his second club.

Never had the chance to watch heart unfortunatly. Yes to the post i am under 30.

I never said i wanted carey at the club full time, more on a very part time role. Say a couple of weeks during a pre season to work with a Post and or Griff then maybe a couple mid season as a review. I dont see how that would affect our culture any more then what cuz did.

Even if the idea fails all we lose is a month and Post and Griff will at the very least know their club cares enough about their development to try something new.

Sorry to all for saying Carey was the best CHF of all time as i said never saw Heart play::(:(

Before Dr Tiger gets back on mate can I give you some advice.

Edit your post from Heart to Hart. Misspelling the surname of our greatest player is not a red card but a felony.

Reminds me of a story that Rex Hunt told of the function where the young girl put a name tag on Royces' seat named as Roy Sart.

i never saw heart play either
some one called hart could really play a bit

The structure Carey played in was Pagan's paddock - very different approach to forward play. Today with the emphasis on forward pressure and defensive skills, zones etc I'd say his value might be a lot less than you'd imagine. Plus he had so much natural talent that he never had to work as hard as any of our blokes to compete at AFL level.

I'm sure he could offer some benefit in contested marking and body positioning technique but again very different era. These days, good teams are drilled to have a player floating into contests to effectively double team key forwards. If I look at how well Vickery has developed in past 12 months I'd really have to ask what is it that we think Carey could offer that our current panel doesn't already have covered?

i saw peart play too hopefully i forget i saw that

I had forgot about him too, until i decided to be a smart arse and do a play on words. Man we have had some talent over the years:D

Best game I saw Neil Peart play was playing for Collingwood as a very young player at Victoria Park and beating a more experienced David Cloke.

Ah the irony.

Whats wrong with that, at least she got it rolling off the tongue..Imagine if she got it totally wrong and had an F instead of an S. ;)
