Dawk park again? Thats bullsheet. Go fly some other team there for a change. Overall I think its a slightly better draw than this year. Get to play Hawks, Bulldogs, Brisbane, Sydney, Geelong and Adelaide twice. Trying to win at Skilled stadium after a derby in rd21 looks like a tough assignment.

Predicted finish: top 4 at least

Overall: A very nice draw condsidering what a shocking fixture we were handed out to begin 2004 with. I think if we dont make the 8 in 2005 with a fixture like this then we deserve to be kicked out of the AFL!

I also did this on the general board.

Pretty good draw - happy that we dont have to play Port and Bris at their home ground in the 2nd half of the season like its been for the last couple of years.

I dont consider round 1 agains the crows as a loss though

Find it hard how you can predict from now haha

i think it's a pretty good draw. If we came win the majority of our home games (9-11) and win 4 on the road like we have in previous years, we'll be looking at about 13-15 wins.

Penciled in two wins against freo.
16 and 6
You seem quite confident in improving in 2005
Is this based on Gardiner coming back, or the good form you hit in the second half of the season

About the only concession I can see there is only playing once at AAMI and not having to head to Manuka. Apart from that we are all over the place as usual.

Can you believe another year without Collingwood visiting Subi to play us??

llosis, look on the bright side, no toothless supporter spitting his "P" sounds down the back of your neck... "Carn the Pois" ;)

Bright side for us is that frank can't blow off all year about how much easier our draw is - yours is a good'un. :)

There must be some behind-the-doors deal between the AFL and Collingwood about the amount of games they play here. I know Eddie was proposing to play a home game in Sydney if they never had to travel to Perth. I'm not sure why he bothered, they don't come here anyway.

As for our extensive travelling, its nothing new. It would be nice however if we could have at least one year where we only travel east of Melbourne once or twice at most.

This is a tasty draw....

All the Phone Dome freaks (dons and saints) playing us at Subi !!! And only one at the Dome (Roos - better playing them there than at Manuka)

4 MCG games is good too... Port at Subi too

Looking good - West Coast in 2005 !!!!

Teams played twice-
-2004
Top 4: 2 (Port, Bris)
5th-8th: 2 (Melb, Ess)
9th-12th: 2 (Freo, Carlton,)
Bottom 4: 1 (Bulldogs)

2005
Top 4: 2 (Geelong, Bris)
5th-8th: 1 (Sydney)
9th-12th: 2 (Freo, Adelaide)
Bottom 4: 2 (Hawthorn, Bulldogs)

Looks slightly better, then, since we have two bottom 4 teams from this years ladder and only 3 finalists, and a fair bit less travel.

The first 10 rounds or so will be very interesting- other than the trip to the Gabba we play rabble like Adelaide, Collingwood and Hawthorn on the road.
However, other than v the dogs its a pretty tough card of home games against Geelong, Freo, Sydney, St Kilda and Port- the saints and power both came away with wins at subi this year, whilst Geelong lost narrowly to both us and Freo.

Best case scenario we maintain our home town advantage and jag a few of those gimmees on the road- and we're sitting pretty midway through the year- however we could easily lose to the likes of St K, Geelong and Port, which could blow quite a hole in the subi-psychological advantage

Excellent draw. A little sick of having to keep going to Brisbane every year.

This year we have our 3 home games in a row at the beginning of the year.... so hopefully we get off to a better start this year.

Not sure what I am happier with... our decent draw or Freo's hard one :D :D

Something else which just occured to me- with brisbane in round 5 and Brown due for a tribunal reaming shortly, chances are we'll get to play them without Brown (and obviously lynch!) again!

Is it just me or is that an easy draw.
It wouldn't surprise me if we were 11 and 2 after round 13 (not likely to happen though, more likely is 8 and 5, in my opinion).
I predict 14 wins.

I'm stoked in regards to this draw for next year, looks much more enticing then this years schedule.

Also very happy when it came to the 4 MCG games part. Plus the no St.Kilda or Essendon at Telstra Dome, that was tops. Next season for us is looking good early on!

Great Draw if we go on the teams form this year.

Come on guys.... as you know the season NEVER unfolds the way you think...

Crows might be back next year.... Roos will be hard to beat in melbounre.

It always fascinates me how people automatically think its a good draw going against this years form...

St. Kilda and Geelong from 2003 to 2004 might jog a few memories.

Still nice though.!! 4 games at the g.... You beauty!

Yes but IP how sweet it is to send that clown home without the 4 points is what is being denied us.

I'd say we have an even draw rather than a good one. Collingwood have a good draw - it overwhelmingly suits and favours their team and club interests. Ours goes for us and against us but overall we can't complain.

The MCG games are good and are no doubt a legacy of the AFL v MCC stoush. Having the boys get used to playing there will be good practice for September, I hope.

Overall, I find it impossible to say how we'll go as all teams are a completely unknown proposition. Some sides are always going to be tough (Port, Brisbane, Saints) and most will be unproven and that includes us. Needless to say it will be an interesting season :)

looking at the draw on paper it looks pretty good. it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we couldn't go 4-0 and go to brisbane in round 5 full of confidence and knocking the lions off.

*cough

When was the last time WC won at AAMI/Footy Pk against the Crows? Weak or strong WC struggle in Adelaide.

1996 - Rnd 10 West Coast 19-16 (130) d Adelaide 11-10 (76) Football Park Crowd - 43,398

8 long years and you expect a win first up? Possible but with Beau waters making his Adelaide debut it should be a good game :D

With the possibility of stenglien making his debut for the club and the possibility of michael gardiner returning in time for round 1 it should make for a very interesting start to the season :D

Fair enough...bring it on ..oh by the way how long before Gardiner does his knee again? Seriously wouldnt he play a few WAFL games first just to get back in the groove or will Worsfold take a punt?

And now WC people rate Stenglein ...funny that

Its not so much what he adds to our team but what he takes away from your team. We will beat the cows twice next year.

Exactly... the best midfield in the AFL just got better... and one of the worse midfields in the AFL just lost another of their best midfielders.
