I've just got home, and for the moment all I want to say is we didn't deserve to win, but since when did 'deserve' ever help us?

When Roo kicked that goal, i just hugged my dad. I knew we were home and I don't mind saying that I got teary. If it's been a long journey for me, it's been some sort of a haj for him. In '66 he was at home studying for his university exams.

To the Dogs, my god you were stiff, and to the doggies supporters around me, your dignity was amazing.

I thought it was all coming to an end when McQualter got run down in that last quarter. Rooey's goal to put us in front had me sitting on the stairs in N22. Rooey's goal to seal it had me dancing around the back of N22 in front of the corporate suites like I was Billy Elliott.

The final siren had my mum and myself join in a circle with another family of 3 and leap up and down with joy. I then saw a Bulldogs fan and extended my hand and told him well done, you blokes were stiff.

So now the final step of our journey begins brothers. No matter what happens, you just know it's going to be one hell of a ride.
