If anyone watched the footy show last night they would have heard Fevola reffering to "The glove man" as the one to play on Shane Crawford. That glove man being ofcourse 1AW. How many other teams have a player who can play on the Croad and beat him the first time round then play on Crawford the next time and probably beat him.....Very promising as has been discussed in other threads.

P.S I presume 1AW is the Glove man, cos he played on crawford intially last time and has a glove and has been stopping players this year. However who knows with Fev, I could be wrong!

Maybe they are thinking of playing Deluca on him

my first thought also when Fevola mentioned the glove, who knows if Deluca could maybe become a 'run with' type?
you'd have to say Tex absolutely wears his opponent like the proverbial, let's not hope we have to wait too long before he's unleashed in the middle and/or forward
anyone wants to remind us of his ordinary kicking skills, just think back to when Kouta first started. he took a while to master his kicking accuracy and look at him now!
Tex, I believe, is one of those guys who is going to become nothing but a star.

when fevola mentioned the glove i though initially he was talking about houlahan but then thought about it abit more and i though walker ...

Yeah, youd think it would have to be walker. But im not really keen on him following around crawf all night. I'd love to see him given a bit of freedom and run off half back. He's developing nicely though.

Kouta is a terible kick, terrible set shot. Seriously watch him in the warms ups, he is on par with Prendergast.

"The glove" plays everyone closely and shuts them down.

You'll find out who it is on Sunday.;)

Didn't Croad kick 5 and (from memory) be the difference between the two sides? (I know Whitnall stood him initially)

yeah, croady kicked about 4 goals or so in the opening term on lance. Was way too athletic for him.

I tend to think they might put croad up forward again in bursts this weekend, with stints in the backline.

Lets all join in prayer that we will see dawson head to the fev before the opening bounce. Id be licking my lips. Surely Clarkson cant be that stupid though?

From what I've seen of Clarkson's coaching this season, stupid could kinda describe it at times.

If he puts Dawson on Fev... you know Hawthorn is tanking for draft picks.

I hope our guys DESTROY the Hawks.... when was the last time we won a game by over 40 points??? I think we have a chance for a 10+ goal win if we tackle hard and rough em up.

yeah id love to know when the last time we won a match by 10 goals or more was? at least 3 seasons id be guessing.

Seems like every win we manage is a bit of a grind for us, and we always do it tough.

i reckon a good 4 quarter drubbing of out oposition would be just about the best thing that could happen at carlton. It would show us that when we'r ahead, we can have the confidence to expand the lead. Oposed to dropping off at times or having to make a comeback.

If Croad plays forward why not play Waite on him and move Whits up forward?
Pagan has been saying he will try Waite down back, i think it would be worth giving him a go at CHB...

WC in 2004 (Walker's debut)- 92 to 43.

unfortunately this is the comment on this thread that has no credibility.
2.
Comparing Kouta to Prendagast is almost the worst insult on kicking ability that one could envisage and this comparison is simply wrong.

Like it.

Waite has the ability to play there.
Nice time for an audition.

I won't edit my comment :o , but everytime Kouta has a set shot I feel no more comfortable then Prenda having a shot. Same with Waite, they are terrible set shots.

On the run, Kouta is pretty solid. But set shots, he is a bad kick. I wouldn't even give him a pass out of 10 for set shots. 4/10.

If you played "around the world" with Kouta v Prenda, where you have shots from all angles inside the 50, I would expect quite a close game :D
