Your questions go unanswered because you are a blithering lunatic
Really? you lost it when someone asked why "why catholic ahead of a islam". Granted you eventually answered it, but not before swearing your head off cause people are asking tough questions about your faith. I asked genuine questions about genocide, homophobia, rape, torture etc etc, these questions obviously will make me a lunatic cause there are no easy answers to it. The fact that Jesus was a homophobe was quite apparent in NT. The fact that i eventually got Bennett to confess that he thinks homosexuals are sinners just like rapists (his quote not mine), speak volumes about his faith. So one of my best friends who happens to be gay is now a criminal like a rapist. You dont want these unwanted elements in your faith, you want to concentrate on the "good parts", So go ahead, no one is stopping you from cherry picking, but dont blame us when we take a stand against your discriminating god.You have no idea.
Since Bennett. won't answer my question about dinosaurs, I did some research myself.

So, there you have it. Dinosaurs were like any other beast - they were created 6,000 years ago but it was the great flood which wiped out their vegetation and the rest were hunted to extinction.![]()

Perhaps, but it's like trying to engage in conversation with a gibbon.
I can only "trap" you with your own ideas. Avoiding answering questions avoids you getting caught out. You didn't explain how dinosaurs fit in to the narrative of Christianity. I'm sure your reasoning would be somewhere along the lines of what's described in the link? What question? You asked what I thought about dinosaurs, what specific question did you really want to ask, or was it just another open question in order for you to shift the parameters when you didn't receive the response you were trying to trap me in?
Yep he gets to choose what questions to ask.On this PR is asking quite relevant questions.
That you don't like the questions is your issue.

why dinosaurs? 95% of all species that ever been created been destroyed BEFORE the homo sapiens walked on earth. So how does that fit into his divine plan? create and destroy? cant even blame humans for this.I can only "trap" you with your own ideas. Avoiding answering questions avoids you getting caught out. Until the thread is closed the discussion will continue. Globally the religion debate will be a melting pot of different opinions until institutionalised religions die.Sounds like nothingness does the trick then.
Where exactly does all this decrying of institutionalized religion get you anyways?....It's all been done to death.
If someone in this thread actually makes an insightful & worth-while comment, then I'll feel inspired to contribute.
All circle-work at the minute....With the usual crew taking the Mickey out of Bos & Ben....Ho-hum.

For sure. But I'm not going to further complicate things. Dinosaurs are universally identifiable and carbon dating has confirmed they were wiped out 65 million years ago. Clearly that doesn't align with the teachings of the Bible.why dinosaurs? 95% of all species that ever been created been destroyed BEFORE the homo sapiens walked on earth. You are expecting evolution or science aligning with the Bible? seriously? what part of Genesis is actually scientific? remember its all apparently "poetry" lol. As long as you dont take Genesis seriously its all good. For sure. But I'm not going to further complicate things. But Genesis is to be taken as a literal account according to my research. You are expecting evolution or science aligning with the Bible? seriously? what part of Genesis is actually scientific? remember its all apparently "poetry" lol. As long as you dont take Genesis seriously its all good.

Here's one of the many links I've read on the topic recently.

Had a lighthouse christian come a knockin bout a year or so ago. They all disagree with each other on this. Plenty of christian theologians have said its literal, many have said its not. Now, there 32,000 denominations of christianity , they all interpret it differently, goodluck in trying to find the truth.. there is no truth, it is what you believe it to be. To people like Bennett who are already sold on the Genesis story, no reason or logic can change their mind
Personally I will argue until I'm six feet under as I'm passionate about the topic. My experiences in life have made me question conventional religious teachings and convinced me to break free from them as they don't align with my values.
A decent question deserves a decent answer, wouldn't you say?TP was asking decent questions he refused to accept any answer to.
That's a reasonable response. So, where do you sit then? What exactly do you believe?Yeah...I'm not trying to shut-down debate about religion & God.
The fact there have been so many religions & Gods is really more an indicator, of this rather human need & predilection to explain life & the invisible psychic forces around us; that informs an essential component of the human condition.
I like the old spring/fence metaphor, when it comes to institutional religion....They claim they have ownership of the one true source, but when it dries up, only for others to flourish elsewhere, their left behind.
Technology has alot to do with the withdrawal from religion/nature for mine....Though it is a conduit of/for communication & relationality. Much as religion use to be....Oftentimes, meeting in church on a Sunday, was the only chance/opportunity some people had, to converse with one another.
That's a reasonable response. So, where do you sit then? What exactly do you believe?
I agree with what you're saying completely. In the case of Procrastinator35, his response was the first decent one I've seen from him. Since he's never open to what he believes, yet chimes in with general, almost nondescript theological opinions - I thought I may finally be in a position to get him to elaborate further. That's the wrong question.
Who cares what one 'believes' if they're not prepared to express justification and proof for their beliefs?
"I saw this", "I felt that", or "I believe the other thing" amounts to nothing more than one in need of patching up personal gaps in life.
I recently recalled what someone very dear said to me and on reflection it summed up a lot about religion.
She said, "I hate that you've made me question the God I believe in"
I don't think she really understood exactly what she had said but then again, she may sooner not want to. That's what cults do to you.

In a way I was trying to obtain the facts to put into context some of the things he's saying. I'm sure he loves the perception of being aloof, but it's not in my nature to not at least make some effort to engage people if they're imparting with an opinion. Seeking clarification is paramount in a thread like this if anyone wants to get anywhere.
Some people use a lot of words to say very little. We have to get used to these tactics.
In most cases once the spotlight is cast upon these types they shy away until the spotlight is taken off and then back they come with more game-play.

Can you stop bullshitting? i refused to accept your contradictory answers, i asked you if forced abortion right? you said no, so i asked you what god did back then with infanticide and forced abortion was right? you replied with "it was brutal times then". So do you agree with god and it was the right thing to do or dont you agree with god and think it was wrong. That was no answer at all, do you agree with infanticide, if yes under what context would kill infants? would you kill infant family members of ISIS for example? (hello Donald). Could god have not left the women and children alone? how about livestocks? are they guilty of murder as well? my frustrations with you is i have to ask you the question 10 times and still i cant get an answer and when asked the 11th time you call me a lunatic. Yes next time remind me to ask questions that you approve of ok?TP was asking decent questions he refused to accept any answer to.

When you have something to say the first port of call is to say it and when you haven't......you just use words to try and sound clever. It doesn't work.
