Really? you lost it when someone asked why "why catholic ahead of a islam". Granted you eventually answered it, but not before swearing your head off cause people are asking tough questions about your faith. I asked genuine questions about genocide, homophobia, rape, torture etc etc, these questions obviously will make me a lunatic cause there are no easy answers to it. The fact that Jesus was a homophobe was quite apparent in NT. The fact that i eventually got Bennett to confess that he thinks homosexuals are sinners just like rapists (his quote not mine), speak volumes about his faith. So one of my best friends who happens to be gay is now a criminal like a rapist. You dont want these unwanted elements in your faith, you want to concentrate on the "good parts", So go ahead, no one is stopping you from cherry picking, but dont blame us when we take a stand against your discriminating god.

P.S You still havent answered my question about homosexuals.

So, there you have it. Dinosaurs were like any other beast - they were created 6,000 years ago but it was the great flood which wiped out their vegetation and the rest were hunted to extinction.

What question? You asked what I thought about dinosaurs, what specific question did you really want to ask, or was it just another open question in order for you to shift the parameters when you didn't receive the response you were trying to trap me in?

I can only "trap" you with your own ideas. Avoiding answering questions avoids you getting caught out. You didn't explain how dinosaurs fit in to the narrative of Christianity. I'm sure your reasoning would be somewhere along the lines of what's described in the link?

Until the thread is closed the discussion will continue. Globally the religion debate will be a melting pot of different opinions until institutionalised religions die.

There have been many insightful and worth-while comments made in this thread. If they don't align with your perspective then they aren't though.

I agree that it's become a bit stale as we've almost reached in impasse. New posters will rekindle discussion but it'll only be a rehash of old ideas/arguments.

Personally I will argue until I'm six feet under as I'm passionate about the topic. My experiences in life have made me question conventional religious teachings ans convinced me to break free from them as theh don't align with my values.

For sure. But I'm not going to further complicate things. Dinosaurs are universally identifiable and carbon dating has confirmed they were wiped out 65 million years ago. Clearly that doesn't align with the teachings of the Bible.

Now, there 32,000 denominations of christianity , they all interpret it differently, goodluck in trying to find the truth.. there is no truth, it is what you believe it to be. Had a lighthouse christian come a knockin bout a year or so ago.
Told her we were godless,scientific reasoners and felt our beliefs superior to religious dogma.
"What about the eye?" she crowed.
"We know that the eye has evolved independently at least 40 times that we currently know of,leaving it a basic and common trait of evolution"
Stumped,I said "how do you feel about the Cambrian Explosion".
The blank stare gave the confidence to ask her kindly to leave my property before my patience wore any thinner.

"I saw this", "I felt that", or "I believe the other thing" amounts to nothing more than one in need of patching up personal gaps in life.

I recently recalled what someone very dear said to me and on reflection it summed up a lot about religion.

She said, "I hate that you've made me question the God I believe in"
I don't think she really understood exactly what she had said but then again, she may sooner not want to. That's what cults do to you.

Since he's never open to what he believes, yet chimes in with general, almost nondescript theological opinions - I thought I may finally be in a position to get him to elaborate further.

Can you stop bullshitting? i refused to accept your contradictory answers, i asked you if forced abortion right? you said no, so i asked you what god did back then with infanticide and forced abortion was right? you replied with "it was brutal times then". So do you agree with god and it was the right thing to do or dont you agree with god and think it was wrong. That was no answer at all, do you agree with infanticide, if yes under what context would kill infants? would you kill infant family members of ISIS for example? (hello Donald).
