Does anyone know if Vivacious Spirit is being aimed for the Goodwood. Is weighted to carry 51kg and is a handy horse over 1200m, running right upto light fantastic over 1400m. $17 atm

I don't know who will actually run in that race but with Here De Angels, Publishing, Vivacious Spirit, Monet Rules, Bel Mer, Morgan Dollar and Miss Judgement all being up there in the betting there is some serious speed in that race (pun not intended). I'd love to see Diplomatic Force win.

Ive backed Tramuntana,that Oakleigh Plate run was unbelievable.
Nice little warm up last week when just peaked on the run.
Is a backmarker so will need luck but that form looks golden IMO
Geez $14 into $9 at the TAB,looks like I aint the only one.

Final Field is out what do we all think. I had $50 on vivacious spirit to run a place at $4.25.
Any thoughts on the Derby as well ill be on Zagred cos the mrs is croatian

just be wary on vivacious spirit cos it is also entered for a 1200m 3yr old race at moonee valley on saturday, acceptances come out in tomorow morning!! it has 58kg, looks well weighted, and would be hard to beat if they choose to stay in victoria for the weekend!!
tramuntana would want to be awesome in the goodwood seth, drawn the carpark, barrier 23!!
I thought that D. T. O'Brien's Immortality was a near EW spess. if he had off drawn a gate. You can win if you draw wide but you need the speed on all the way and all the luck to go your way.
I already back him at the $17 EW before the barrier draw and the stablemate Vigor is not without a EW chance in the SA Derby either.

I used to love this horse; does its best against weaker opposition on a rain effected track at a course like Mooney Valley. I have followed him for a while; just doesn't seem to have the class to win this.

thanks for the imput,I was just going for value with the Apache Cat formline ran1.5 len,lg hd 3rd- 1st up on 16th Feb.Won a trial and is 1st up again maybe e/w.
im a big fan of this horse too, but im concerned with the gate, the speed in the race and the distance
1. there will be heaps of speed and he will be caught up in it
2. he is a roarer, and is just back from a wind op!!
3. therefore, he will struggle to run out the 1200m
i could be wrong but will see..
one of the locals will win this, thats my gut feeling!! zipanese, penceralon or tramuntana

As per Fullta they go 100 miles an hour in this every year & something tradionally storms over the top.
A horse that runs out a strong 1200 is essential, & if the pattern of a couple of weeks is maintained they may well be swooping down the outside. A shower or 2 predicted & the inside may chop up again. Very hard to judge given a big assumption is required as to the pattern of racing, but I'm basing it on that they will run on.
The 3 I'm leaning towards on this basis are Lets Go Thommo (back to back), Idalou & Sleek Chasis.
Here De Angels lay of the day for mine, will struggle to run out a high pressured 1200m.

I'm a big fan of Immortality also, but the wide draw has killed it, last time he got a crap gate he went forward did plenty of work and couldn't sustain.

This is a hard race after having a look at the field. You would think that there will be a lot of speed in the race, maybe something like Diplomatic force or Zipanese.

I am here in Japan with a super fast cable connection but the TAB online Sky Ch. feed was also ordinary for me too. It was really annoying. I dropped it back to the 128 k feed but it was still bad. I have been watching the trots with it tonight and it has been perfect.
I liked Immortality but I thought any of a dozen could win but Shadoways wasn't one of my chances.
To think I was on it nearly every start it had in the Spring makes the win a little hard to swallow!!!
