Remember the movie, "The Goonies?"

A friend of mine hired out 6 "weekely DVD's from Blockbuster video on the weekend and lo and behold the Goonies was one of them. I hadn't seen it in 10 years, but had loved it as a kid. It was one of those films that everyone had previously seen on video about 100 times. It is pretty corny, but so funny and entertaining. Looking back at it, I can see why it was so appealing to 12 year olds, and anyone for that matter who is young at heart. Anyone remember it?

As soon as I got my DVD player this was the first DVD I bought. It is in my all-time fave movies list.

Bullet holes the size of watermelons!

Babe Ruth?

"And then in the forth grade, we went to the movies and *SPEWS* *SPEWS*"

Shame, Shame know your name!

50 DOLLAR BILLS!!!

"The only thing we serve here is tongue!"

My fave part is Mouth tranlating to Rosa the helper. "Crack in the top drawer, Amphetamines in the second, sexual torture equipment in the attic" etc etc

Sorry I just love that movie...!!! And the special features are pretty cool too.

Gotta run and do the truffle shuffle...!

One of my all time favourite films.

That little Chinese kid with the inventions was brilliant!

Goonies never say die.....:)

Do you remember?? I have never stopped loving The Goonies. See at least once a year, usually a lot more times than that.

The Goonies is one of the greatest movies of all time, and I'm completely serious.

I concede with Joddy - totally awesome movie and thanks Dan for reminding me and making me deperate to see it again!!! :D

You beat me to it!!!!
Definately one of my fave movies.
Can still remember the first time I saw it (sighs wistfully).

I like this film, and I do own it, but geez, the more I watch it, the more gay connotations I find!

"One-Eyed Willy" ?? I mean, come on!
And that Sean Astin's character is just so camp it's not funny.

Thank God for Feldman, he is a genius.

More camp than Sam in Lord of the Rings??

Frodo: 'Sam, I am going to Mordor alone'
Sam: 'Of course you are Mr Frodo, and I'm coming with you!'

:D

BTW, I haven't seen the film...sounds good tho!

What is this movie you speak of?

I have it filed in my 'never to watch' list, along with:
The Full Monty
All Jurassic Parks
Looking For Alibrandi
Anything with Sandra Bullock
and plenty more....

It is an absolute classic - definitely in my video collection. I'll have to go and find the thing now - there's nothing else decent on telly to watch.

Used to love it and still do!

Lines not particularly funny but the scenes are
Mouth-"Do the Truffle Shuffle"

Chunk-"You smell like **** ant"

Mikey-"Like the time Michael Jackson came over to your place to use the bathroom!"
Chunk-"Ok Michael Jackson didn't come over to use the bathroom....but his sister did!"

There is a Goonies II in the pipe works, apparently the get back together twenty years down the track. Chunk is actually skinnier than Astin.

I love the corny Corey Feldman "serious" speech. I can't help but laugh.

"This coin right here. This was MY wish, MY dream, and it didn't come true. So, I'm taking it back...I'm taking them all back"

And the Sean Astin "serious " speech (funny coming from a 12 year old) where he overstates that it is their time.

Up there, it's their time. Down here, it our time. It's our time down here. Down here...it's our time down HERE.

I Love the Goonies!

I especially like Corey Feldman's spanish 'translation' to the new housekeeper.

On a related note, as Bakes posted earlier, Sean Astin was discussing supposed plans for a 'Goonies 2' (probably with a cast of 'new' young Goonies.. although Sean would like to do a 'reunion' type movie - I'd LOVE to see that!)

If you are interested read about it here

ANDYYYYYYYYYYY - YOU GOOOOOOOOOOONIE!!!!

Actually my favourite scene is when Bran steals the little girls bike "I WANT MY BIKE, I WANT MY BIKE" LMAO

And I always wanted to go down a waterslide like that!!

"Next time we take a test, It will be at another school.."

Ohh man it is so damn good!!

It is even one of my dads favourite movies! Definitely a good one!

Final line -

"REAL NEAT ORV"

:P
