Hey legends of the game:thumbsu:

Just wanted to know some facts. I believe the SFA started in 2001.

From 2001 - 2007 there was a team known as the seventh wonders. They won a premiership in 2001 and were runners up in 2002.

From 2003 - 2004 there was a team known as West Coast Magic. They won the flag in 2003

In 2007 a team known as the West Coast wonders were formed.

What i want to know is, Does the seventh wonders FC have anything to do with the West Coast Wonders FC. Did they merge is what im asking. And does the West Coast Magic have anything to do with the West Coast wonders?

Or is the west coast wonders a new team and have had nothing to do with the West Coast Magic and seventh wonders?

Cheers guys:thumbsu:

And to think I've been in it from the beginning.

Don't know about the Magic pacemaker. Perhaps they were just a pre-season team or from another forum, etc.

You'd have a few games chalked up by now Fred:D Time to get rid of the Mod Squad and go back to the Roys, only open it up for anyone:D:thumbsu:

I thought that as well but the Seventh Wonders were around from 2001 - 2006 and the West Coast magic only in from 2003 - 2004. And the West Coast Wonders formed in 2007

Doggies' original post was partly right.

The Seventh Wonders started as an original club in the SFA. Quite a few seasons ago, they went on a big recruting drive, one of the players recruited was Kerr4PM. After being with the club a while, I believe he got into a leadership position and wanted to change the name to West Coast Wonders along with a couple of other players. They got their way in the end but most of the long-term players who had played with the Seventh Wonders hated the decision and either retired or changed clubs. From then on the club was known as the West Coast Wonders.

The West Coast Magic were a totally different club and only went for about two seasons I think. They folded in the off-season which was the same off-season where I joined the Dragons. I'm fairly sure the Dragons had no link to the previous "BigFooty Dragons" side although I'm not 100% certain.

I thought you were the BigFooty Dragons before you merged with the Sharks? Or am I misunderstand what you're saying.

Hawks were formed by F/D, I was the first ever member of the club. Took over about 1/4 way through the season and had been captain up until this year when I started to lose my free time so passed it on to Biggie. :thumbsu:

I always thought that the Dragons were a new club entering for the 2005 season. We were always known as just "Dragons" when I started playing for them. Perhaps the name was changed before the start of the 2005 season.

Pie 4 Life would be able to shed more light as he was skipper back then.

yeah the Sharks and Dragons merged, perhaps Ljp is saying though that there was a side called 'Bigfooty Dragons' which folded and then another team called the 'Dragons' started up which then merged. Worth confirmning.

Well EKA was a member of the 7th Wonders.
I have a feeling HBK619 might have been too.

That's what I meant doggies. The Sharks and Dragons merged long ago, I was one of those against it. I'd say there wouldn't be any Sharks players left on our list.

And the Dragons were a pretty average posting team at the time as well, just you leading the charge really whilst the Sharks posted strongly. Good match those Shagons.

Both teams had a few dedicated posters with some who posted occasionally. The decision was made to merge both sides and it went ahead with the Southern Dragons becoming a TFFSL (Remember that site - guess who had the last laugh?) wankfest with me on the outer. I would have been suspended from the Dragons if Frankston Rover had his way too. Slowly but surely most of the TFFSL people left, some people quit the side to go over there and play permanently because the BF comp was "crap", what a move that turned out to be.

The side now would contain a few members from the merge (myself and Pie would be the major two, Moo and Fantastic_crows are on our list but don't post and maybe one or two others) but other than that we underwent a major change last season and midway through last season also and we'll probably go through another one after this season is over.
