IMO he’s a lost cause now, regardless of what’s happening behind closed doors his public attitude tells anything but being committed to the club and his playing career.

The byproduct of throwing obscene amounts of cash at kids still wet behind the ears
I wonder how many of his party crowd will still be around when the money dries up...

What may have been. We’ve seen similar issues before with players being lazy or behaving badly (Stringer eg)

Shame but that’s life

Stringer was bad (and zero regrets about moving him on) but JUH is in a totally different stratosphere.

Stringer at least did the minimum at training and was always available to play, for us and each of the clubs he’s been at.

Barrett linking Dunkley, Smith and Marra together as the same issue. He is an absolute grub an absolute bottom feeder of the highest order.

He's a campaigner. Smith is a narcissist who was only ever in it for himself. He d*** the club around last year taking the p* by spending weeks on end in Europe rather than supporting his 'mates'. Says it all.

Dunkley. I don't know what happened there. Just a weird situation but no doubt influenced by others including his father.

As for Jamarra, what should we have done? Obviously fallen in with the wrong crowd, disrespected the club, teammates.

What more could the club do? What do people expect? Gutless campaigners like Barrett would never have the balls to keep flinging s*** and undermining 'big' clubs so he picks on who he sees as easy targets. Coward.

Yeah each player is different, although comparatively when you look at how Stringer went on a decline after an impressive 2015 season one can only wonder what could have been. Was it something a different club could have salvaged and put back on the straight & narrow before he bottomed out?

With JUH is it an issue simply with JUH or a problem compounded by the club’s approach to player management. The club doesn’t appear to look strong on paper when it comes to controlling players and expectations. I don’t know and can’t comment on the JUH situation when it comes to how things are going between him the club and coach

I've just deleted a post and given a warning to a poster who made unfounded allegations about a player's family. You should all know better than that. Be warned that the next infraction of that type will be more severely dealt with.

I think speculating on Jamarra’s family influence is uncalled for, the club has always made a point of meeting prospective players families, and talk to their teachers etc. if there was any concerns they wouldn’t have drafted him.

I suspect something has happened to make him re-evaluate his life.
I mean the whole club spent some time at Framlingham, he spent time with Bont and Naughty visiting the Tiwi Islands, everything was going well, and then he started focusing on boxing, and other influences came into his life. Whether there was some event that occurred before that, such as a death or illness of a close family member.

I still think when people hit black depression they just don’t care, drink too much, cheap thrills to try to give them a quick hit. Not everyone shows their depression, somet8mes they act it out.

I don’t know, just spitballing possibilities.

Is anyone else thinking this has well and truly gotten to the level where Bains, Wheeler, etc. i.e. "the club" should be the spokesperson/s for all Marra related matters?

Bevo and the players should be just saying we care deeply about Marra but we will not make any further comments regarding Marra and ask that you respect his privacy etc.

This could go nuclear if not handled carefully and having say a player badly word a response could set off a chain reaction and thats the last thing this situation needs.

Honestly I hope Marra gets the help he needs and finds peace.

It's time for Bains etc. to step up and be the face of this.

So Bevo…

‘ “At the moment the decision-making in regards to ‘Marra’s future and what that entails is significantly in the AFL’s hands,” Beveridge said.
“We’re waiting on them to do certain things and we’re continually interacting with them and working through it to work out what’s best for ‘Marra. ‘

And Morris…

‘Nothing’s changed from that perspective. The AFL is working in a collaborative manner with the club and also his management.’

Are these not the same thing?

Bevo’s point is clearly that the club knows the direction it wants to go and it’s up to the AFL whether they sign off on it or not. Talk about an article on nothing.

I mean it doesn't even have to be that deep. Plenty of very talented young people decide they don't want a life of extreme commitment for ultimate performance or productivity. They decide their friendships, social life, getting high, and general happiness is more important. And fair enough to some extent - you ain't taking performance/productivity with you at the end.

But the problem for Marra is that he has chosen a team sport, involving pick 1 and crap load of salary cap. If the above is where his head is at he needs to release the club and do the right thing by the team that he is impacting.

Im a pretty dumb guy and even though Ive read Tom Morrises pronouncements on the JUH saga a number of times. Im not sure how what Beveridge said is out of line with Morrises own versions of events. Its seems to be the most semantic of splitting hairs just to bring something new to a giant table of obviousness.

Edit: But wait theres more!

Especially when he says this...

“The reason why the AFL gets brought in on these decisions via the head of mental health and wellbeing in Dr Kate Hall is because they have a greater reach on complex situations."

What a ****wit.

I don't think Morris is capable of more then that.

I'd be very surprised if Jamarra ever even trains with us again, let alone plays a game in bulldogs colours, but I would also be very surprised if he was never on an AFL list again.

He's a rare football commodity and with list sizes as they are, I think that there will be a number of clubs that will 'back their culture in' and be prepared to take the risk.

There were multiple clubs, that we know of, that were exploring the idea of recruiting Tarryn Thomas and he is a parriah to the general public.

For all Jamarra's indiscretions, he doesn't carry doesn't that sort of baggage so I expect multiple clubs will be prepared to role the dice.

If I'm wrong, and I often am, then Jamarra's primary source of income in a couple of years will probably be Only Fans.

This isn't a criticism of us as a club by the way, we've done all we can and Jamarra's actions mean he has little or no trade value.
