Nup it’s absolutely not and I agree with him there. I’ve now watched the whole thing and to be honest, I thought there was still a lack of accountability.
I think he was making a wider point about the effect that unfounded rumours and speculation has on a players mental health. This would only be compounded by a guy of his generation why doesn't know of a time when social media wasn't a central plank of their social lives. It goes some way to explaining his slight tone-deaf recalcitrance regarding the effect that his social media presence has played in his mental health struggles.

I’ve been in his corner all along and still am. The two parts of the interview I didn’t like were him saying he should be able to do what he wants and post what he wants and when asked how does he get back to playing, he said that he needs just to show up.
I think it’s going to take more than just showing up.
Totally get the shocking pressure from the media and the toll it’s taken on him and I really hope he gets back to playing but I couldn’t help walking away from that interview still a little skeptical.
Those two interviewing him probably didn’t help the cause either.

I totally understand he didn't outright own his mistakes or apologise but the podcast was also filmed while he was on the Gold Coast and before he rejoined the playing group. I wish he apologised publicly and without caveats however I think we need to understand that he is still very early into his recovery, lacks emotional maturity and has been thrust full force into being a public figure. To show the amount of vulnerability and accountability that he did is still huge for a 23 year old regardless of his position.
I also agree the quality of interview played a large part in this, had it been a professional interview rather then three lads at a table I'm sure he would have been steered more naturally into what he is or isn't apologetic for.

In its totality the podcast didn't offer a whole heap but it's focus on mental health and rawness in that aspect could only be taken as a positive and hopefully those young guys listening took something from it all.

At the end of the day there are only so many things that can be said in situations like Jamarra's, and the only real way to show any change or remorse is through actions. He will need to work twice as hard in the short and long term to regain any trust and friendships he has lost.

From an interview with him.
"I have been watching every single Bulldogs game. I have been supporting them, been watching them"
Bs, he was out partying whilst the team was playing and instead of showing up and in his own words "supporting them" at the historic Footscray game he went out on the p#@s.
I don't hate him, I hope he gets his stuff together and gets on track but he's not honest, he showed no support whatsoever. Remember he once said he doesn't watch footy! Now he watches every single game, crap.
He's getting help, great, hopefully that includes learning to be honest and accountable for your actions instead of passing it off as just symptoms.

Of course. Bear in mind that this interview took place before his return to the club. And with two hosts that he was comfortable in the knowledge that there wouldn't be much push back on anything he said.

Im sure that one of the first things that the club did in the lead up to his return to the club was to assuage him of these views. If he wants to continue his stated view that he wants to win a premiership with the club.

I took the "show up" comment as one relating to him ticking off all of the boxes over the coming weeks and things will naturally take their course. That level of hubris is not really surprising from a guy with his rare skillset. Id be surprised if it was otherwise.

What a weird take from an interview where he addressed most of the issues that people have been speculating about.

I guess he just needs to harden up and play football for your viewing pleasure then?

Morris reporting on Jamarra being late to training on Saturday says all you need to know about the journalism we have in this sport and the media attention Marra was speaking about in the podcast.
Yes Jamarra was late, and no it's certainly not a good look. How late was he though? 5 minutes, he was 5 minutes late and it makes the headline of Morris' segment on the news.

Edit: was Saturday not Friday.

These pathetic cretins (or "agenda setters" as they like to describe themselves) have nothing better to do than hound the latest topic of the day before moving onto their next target. Surprised they haven't set up camp outside Michael Voss' home to relentlessly pursue him being sacked so they get their shiny new headline.

Well yes, that's literally his job. He gets paid handsomely to be the kick ball guy.
More important things in life then Football hopefully you don’t go through a rough patch and someone just tells you get to work and do your job

Im backing Woofer in everyday of the week for legit intel over Morris

There’s a lot of perfect people in this thread who have never done anything wrong or had any struggles.

Quite remarkable.

Glad Jamarra was able to speak out about his story.
Not many on this thread are getting paid 900k per year I would guess.

Thought so. Just magically happened to drop that “news” once Marra smashed the media. What a petty flog.
And name dropped Morris specifically. The podcast was filmed the day after Morris put out that junk about a trade to the Swans.
He was also late by so little that he beat some guys onto the track.

Christ not that false equivalency again.

Are we really going to pretend footy players are just regular joes with normal jobs? Yeah going through a rough patch sucks, but when it happens to us we don't get to take months off work, get paid and still take the piss and party on Instagram.

Was probably getting strapped or massaged. Knowing Morris though, he probably waited in the car park at 5am.

I think it's more the other way but on the money. Other guys are a bit beat up and need extra work before training. Marra was able to come straight in strap up and hit the track.

JUH is a human being that faces the some challenges and mental health issues like everyone else. I couldn’t careless what he does as a job I just hope JUH is happy in his own skin and as a long career ahead
