Any chance we could convert Tabener into a half decent key position defender?
I was thinking the same but he probably wouldn't be able to make the decision to kick out of the backline, also will probably miss targets too often.

We are already bad enough in that area

I think people should watch Apeness' debut game against the Demons in '14 to check their hype. He is not going to be a short term answer. Key forwards take 5+ seasons to come good unless they are freaks.

It was Mora's comeback game too.
I agree, even if Apeness stays injury free it's going to take some time for him to reach his potential. But the one thing I think we can safely say is he does have plenty of potential. He was recruited with our first draft pick as a KPP/ruckman, who is a smart footballer, knows how to win a contested mark and shows some aggression. May be harsh on Tabs but Apeness is almost his polar opposite other than that they both have good endurance. Even if it takes him a while to come good, he's exactly what we need - a decent backup ruckman that should develop in to a decent key forward. Would have to be more valuable than having Tabs pinch hitting in the ruck like we do now? Just because he hasn't been playing, being a bit older and more mature now should also reduce the development and learning curve a bit - hence why I think mature age recruits can sometimes step up to AFL level so quickly (especially in the modern game where brains seem more important than they did before :)).

I wonder if being a back up ruckman is still a viable option for Apeness after two horrible knee injuries, hoping his luck turns for the better from now on.

Yeah good point. They seem to have been extremely cautious with his rehab though - so hopefully he comes back as good as new. As backup to Sandi he wouldn't need to ruck that often, so that may help ease him in to it. I just really want to see APearce and Apeness at the either end of the ground this season - their aggressiveness (or "presence") is something I think will be great to watch if nothing else this year.

Add on, Since uber is my favorite so can't suggest an upgrade because of that, if possible if lTI to certain player at least consider Hurley or nyhuis as upgrade.

I think Pearce is earmarked as a key forward. Does most of his match sims forward.

Pearce, Apeness and Mc Carthy forward gives us plenty of pace, height and marking power. Add Fyfe and Bennell in that mix and that is a somewhat powerful line up. Hope the footy Gods smile kindly on Michael.

I'm fine with him at either end. Just love his attitude on field. Makes some mistakes but you excuse them because he just gets in amongst it. He seems like he could almost play anywhere (with enough training) - key defender, ruck, winger, key forward. Hope he turns out to be a really good swing-man because he'd be crazy hard to match up on when he hits his prime.

Salim I don't think we can get McCarthy now maybe 2017. GWS will not back down now.

Balla McCarthy Apeness
Bennell/ Fyfe Pearce Walters /Weller hopefully could be the forward set up 017. If Hogan gets here as well then :rainbow::rainbow::D:):thumbsu:
I will leave ballas out will be 31 then maybe you see him as our NM version Harvey :D
