Feel sorry for Kyah Simon. Worked hard to get back and breaks down again. Still only 27 so could do one more World Cup.

Possibly even two, given the examples of Lisa De Vanna and Tim Cahill.

Personal apology from Heather Reid to Alen Stajcic and a statement from the FFA confirming that it exercised a right of termination under its contract with Stajcic and paid him out, and acknowledging that Heather Reid's statements caused speculation about the termination of the contract.

Too little too late imo - the reputational damage has already been well and truly done, and there is no way this apology gains anywhere near the traction in the media or with the public that the initial story got.

Also the part of Heather Reid's apology about her communications making it to journalists she didn't intend them to reads as if she doesn't fully acknowledge that what she did was wrong, which lessens the effect of her apology

We just lost 3-0 to the 8th-ranked Netherlands in Eindhoven, goals coming in the 45th+1, 49th and 70th minute. Probably not a stretch to suggest on current form that the Matildas will probably not make the World Cup semi-finals.
- Should top Group C v 15-Italy, 10-Brazil and 53-Jamaica
- 2R: Should then account for 3rd from Group A/B/F
- QF: Would then probably meet one of #5-Canada/#8-Netherlands
- SF: Most likely one of #2-Germany/#5-Canada/#8-Netherlands will be waiting

World Cup observation: the final cannot be A1vA2 or E1vE2 as these teams would meet in a SF.
