Does above and beyond on the field. Forward to ruck and occupying the loose back role at times. Actually great value on ruck, quick hands and kicks well, surprisingly.
He's gonna have a break out soon, very soon. Once he gets the lead better, he ll clunk a few marks.

He's always been a pretty good field kick as far as execution goes, the problem is his decision making and general positioning (at least that's my read). He's steadily improved in all areas including this one - that's all you can ask really. He's yet to really smash a game as a high quality fwd might do (though that Essendon game last year was nothing to sneeze at), but he's tracking well. I'd take his development over say a Jack Anthony type who had that flash in the pan season, stalled and then quickly fell away.

Tabs doesn't need this 'break out' caper that's spoken of, he'll just continue the incremental improvement approach to the Coleman.
He'll hit 27 and win it for the next 3 years.

Ha ha, like your optimism.

But agree, that is the point I'm kind of making. So many players (not just fwds) have these big games or a few and then just disappear. What I like about Tabs is its just a steady and, generally, fairly clear improvement. That indicates to me there's some longer term substance to it.

90% chance of rain this weekend. In the past this meant a 90% chance of Tabs being shithouse. This would be the real test of whether he’s a fully-fledged, top-line forward.

Problem in past years is that Tabs has been that guy to have a big game, break out and then steadily drop off until he's eventually dropped (only to rinse and repeat the same string of games later in the year). What I've liked about Tabs so far this year is he's limiting his brain farts and seems to be offering something even when the team/he is a bit off.

Also remember Tabs being dropped a lot when it rained which couldn't have helped when he was left in. Tabs' crumbing and ground ball work has been a feature this year so hopefully he shows he belongs no matter the moisture.

Looks like it'll be in the morning though. But think he's better prepared for it and will be involved in the ruck.
Just hope if he does maybe have a stinker Ross isn't inclined to drop him.

How many KPFs actually do well in the wet though? Not sure why Tabs is being held to a different standard.

The problem was the complete drop in providing any kind of contest, or even as a linkup option. Most other forwards will offer that. Tabs was nonexistent.

Apparently he’s been working on his ground game so I guess we’ll find out.
