Oh also Braun said he would rather retire than play it out in the WAFL because its hard enough to get him through AFL games with superb fitness staff at the Eagles, imagine the WAFL fitness staff. Knee operations pre-season after pre-season he has had, so I think that is understandable.

An alternate view might be that Macca realises something most running Freo don't - he is actually only a WAFL standard player! Given that, of course he is happy to play anywhere - every game is a bonus.

Braun is crippled from years of yeoman service at the highest level. If the Eagles believe he cant offer them anything, he will retire as his body is completely shot. If however the Eagles believe he can still offer something he is prepared to drag himself out there every week.

Both parties agree that their is no benefit to anyone from him playing WAFL.

I think most Freo fans agree that the greatest benefit Macca could have been for Freo was opting to play WAFL exclusively about 5 years ago. Selfish bastard that he is, he instead decided to run around like a headless chook for the last 5 years kicking as many perfect passes to the opposition as to his team mates. Absolute gun is Macca, sums up everything about Freo in his unattractive, skill-less body.
