Yeah nah. When you do a footy podcast you’re putting yourself up to have some expertise in the field. Surely that includes knowing which coach is Longmire and which coach is Longmuir.
Well essentially it's entertainment, so little errors aint gonna effect much either way. Good to have the respect in getting it right though, but to err is human.

A bit harsh on the dyslexic folk IMO.

Apologies. Will be more careful in the future.
Cheers.
Lovely to see folks on the east side placing a microscope over our beloved club's fortunes in 2020. Just one other minor point to add lads - Cameron McCarthy was delisted, he didn't retire.

McCarthy retired a few years ago

Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has one goal heading into the new year – to reward the Dockers faithful.
Longmuir, a former Dockers fan favourite as a player, is heading into just his second season as a senior AFL coach, after using his first season to implement a new playing style.
Now the rookie coach believes the time is right for Fremantle to be successful.

“I’m mindful that we’re in a hurry as a footy club, I’m mindful of the lack of success for this footy club,” he said on the Greats with Garby podcast.
“A large burden that I carry is that I want our members to be really proud, I want our members to enjoy some success.
“We’ve got a passionate supporter group that has stuck with us for a long time and I really want to reward them.
“I’ve just got to check myself when I start thinking like that.”
After offloading a number of players including Jesse Hogan, Cam McCarthy and Brandon Matera in the off-season, Longmuir said his focus was on ensuring his players had the right attitude.
“Our goal is to have a sustained successful period,” he said.
“If we can do that, we’ll win a lot of games in a lot of consecutive years, the premierships will hopefully come.
“(Goals) give you direction … but I try to spend a lot more time on the process, spend a lot more time getting every day right, making sure our players have that attitude where they rock up to work and try and get better every day.”
One of those players Longmuir highlighted is Caleb Serong, who impressed the coaching staff with his mindset early in his career as a Docker.
Longmuir, who played 139 games at the Dockers before retiring in 2007, said he planned to repay the faith shown in him by the Fremantle hierarchy.
“I’m not only coaching a club I’m really passionate about, I get to pay back the club that has given me a lot of opportunities,” he said.
“I feel like I owe the club a lot.”

I thought that sentence was interesting. Got rid of players, focus on attitude.

Nice to see Pav get some respect from Dunstall. Pretty elite company.

It just shows what you get when two individuals express an opinion on their greatest players.
In this example of top 5 lists from 2 journalists you get 8 individual players.

For that time frame, 2000-2020 a player who won 2 Brownlow medals and robbed of 1 and
holds the record for votes polled for career games played doesn’t get a mention.

It is the Same when dinosaur VFL journalists rattle off their top 50 players of all time; it’s a
total nonsense.

I know it might seem that way IP, given we had diabolical FNF form before that match - but we did win a few games played on Friday nights prior to that.

I'm thinking specifically of Tony Modra's 10 goals at the MCG against the Dees, not to mention the last game we won under Gerard Neesham by 1 point over Adelaide. I believe the famous Andrew Wills aeroplane goal came against North on a Friday night earlier in 1998, a match I think we got up in also...

Our first ever home win was on a Friday night. Round 4 1995 v Geelong. Funnily enough, our first 2 home games that year were on Friday nights. No idea how we scored that.

I went to that game at the WACA. We used to watch the Western Reds there as well. Good memories

Quite a few errors but whatever.
Brennan Cox not Brendon Cox
McCarthy delisted not retired.
Stephen Hill already playing HBF that’s not a positional change
Zero trade interest in Blakely
Walters and SHill are 30, Fyfe 29
Schultz wasn’t re-signed for a few years - 1 year on rookie list
Cerra not re-signed. Out of contract at the end of 2021. We all hope that changes very soon.

I went to all the Western Reds home games at the waca as a kid. When the Broncos rolled into town i got all the Bronco legends signatures. Good times.

I was about to send a link on this, I am glad someone did.

Me, Along with many Freo posters on here, Want Justin Longmuir to succeed as Fremantle coach.

As I have Posted, I made a prediction he will last around 5-7 years as a freo coach. Will he get us that Elusive flag? I dont know.

But I hope He gives freo Mild-Moderate finals success.

Mild to moderate?! That’d be disappointing.

Anything less than a flag/s after a rebuild is very disappointing, especially with the promise shown by the youngsters coming thru.

You say that as though every time a team rebuilds they are guaranteed a premiership. It ain't that easy.

If you think he’ll last only 5 to 7 years that’s probably not a premiership winning coach.

He’ll last 10+
