Agree with your sentiments re Collins, but would rather have kept Barlow than De Boer, as you said at the time.
Love Mickey but the game had gone past him.
We had no use for a third stoppage midfielder who didn't defend and couldn't effectivenly play another position.

I was being polite in my first response. He wasn't held out by Dawson due to Ross's favouritism: He got delisted because he wasn't very good. Honestly people will go shoehorn a Ross dig into anything. 1) They didn't play the same position. Dawson was a stopper, Collins a second/third tall. 2) Dawson only played 2 games in 2017!
Also did he 'dominate' the WAFL? He dominated the VFL the next year and finished third in the JJ Liston. But dominated the WAFL? He won the Peel F&B but geez, it's also been won by such luminaries as Jacob Ballard & Viv Michie. It's also been won by Bailey Banfield, who we would likely find being called a spud by some of the same people weeping bitter tears of woe because we let Collins go.

IMO the only recent delisting the was the wrong decision at the time was De Boer.
He was in the WAFL All Star team for that year I think.

I stopped at Collins was delisted without playing a game. Collins would be handy granted but had some serious flaws. Kicking amongst them. I’ve said this many times before but there were many times I saw him try to switch play with Peel where he missed target by more than 10 metres to go out of bounds and on two occasions grubbered the ball out of bounds. He went back and worked his arse off and good on him. Won awards in the VFL and was selected by GCS.

Similar to Menagola - who worked his butt off at Subiaco found a midfield role almost won Sandover after missing almost half the year.

Could we have done more with Menagola. Yes indeed but it took the delisting and time in WAFL for him to get to where he is now.

DeBoer we have spoken about many times. He was delisted ahead of other spuds Who were contracted. Was a list management issue.

This same matter could be raised with any club. Sam Collins would likely be a depth fill in for us, not a stating FB. The delisting for him was the best thing that happened to him. But the article says he never played for Freo.

I’ve said this a few times about De Boer. I’m not convinced Danyle Pearce and Nick Suban for example would’ve been delisted earlier than De Boer if they were all uncontracted. A 26 year old who wasn’t injured and plays four games all season gets delisted by every club in the competition. Fact is Pearce and Suban played plenty of games in 2016. We’d make the same ‘mistake’ again imo.

The question isn’t why he was delisted - it’s why he wasn’t playing games in the first place.

I’ll put my hand up and say I thought De Boer should’ve been delisted at the end of 2015.

Anyway the article is garbage stating we didn’t give those players opportunities. Outside of Collins and Menegola we gave them plenty (the article said we gave Collins none).

As much as I respect what Collins has done, he couldn’t force his way into the side despite Zac Dawson being told after round two he wasn’t playing again and Alex Pearce not playing all season... When he did come in he was beyond garbage.

Disagree. He did brilliantly for a few games that year when thrust into the role of a tagger, getting plenty of the footy and still limiting his opponent, but then got injured and never got a crack at it again. Would much rather have had him on the list over the likes of Suban or Pearce

I heard an advertisement in the morning in 93.7 nova fm. In the begning they say some unrelated things like "only one team never got a premiership and that is the purple one"... then at the end they start talking about solar system which is their product..I forgot solar company name... any one else heard that?.

He did win the F&B. If you mean the Sandover then no, he wasn't in the top 10. (He played 2 with Feo in 2017)
I was talking about 2016, his last season with Freo, when he finished 7 votes behind Jye Bolton and played for Freo against the Eagles, Saints, Swans and Bulldogs. Rounds 3, 10, 19 and 23.

He was delisted October 4th 2016.

We are talking about Matt de Boer aren't we?

Is it a solar panel company? Anyone know their name? I'll be looking to get some solar panelling in the next year or so and I want to cross them off my list.

If you're serious, I just had solar panels put on 2 or so weeks ago. I have a very high roof (starts at 6m) and was s. scared of tiles being damaged, etc. as would be difficult to repair. Did a crap load of research on what I wanted and who to go with, including a lot of reading on the solarquotes site. Found a small family company where the bloke who advises and you sign the contract with is also on the roof putting them on and doing the electrical work. They have 101 reviews on Solarquotes and nothing less than 4 star, no specific complaints or issues of any kind. 29 x 5 star reviews on google (and one made up by a competitor that was found out) but I was still a bit nervous. Completed now, he even did an extra fix on my electrical box due to a phase that wasn't functioning at no extra cost. Brilliant. No issues. Even fixed a tile they found was broken in another area. Works great. So happy. Highly recommend them - SEM Solar - to anyone in Perth. I'd even be prepared to show you my roof if you needed to. My Dad kept an eye on them as they completed it while I was up north. He's a electrical engineer and was thoroughly impressed with their work too.

Zempilas been told by Seven Media that he can't work anymore on 6pr when his contract ends at the end of the year - this is regardless of whether he wins that vote for Lord Mayor of Perth, but to do with 6pr being owned by Channel 9.

Wonder where that leaves poor old Haggers and his daily bullsh*t reports.

Gee, i'm going to miss those possible future breakfast hot topics where I can ring up and give my 10 seconds of opinion to Baz & Steve on stuff like: If Ben Cousins died tomorrow should the WA Government give him a state funeral or Would I still want to go to Miss Maud's if I found out she was trans.

Fingers crossed 6pr also tells him he can’t work at Seven Media

Better to get a quote off them, fill them with hope for a week or two, string them along and then at the 11th hour tell them you just heard their ad so won’t be signing.

The game hadn't gone past him. One of my favourite players of all time. As someone else said at the time, when he went down with that horribly broken leg in his dream debut season it was like someone had shot Bambi and Santa Claus.
While I think his and Matty's delistings were deplorable, I can understand why Fremantle did what they did in Mick's case. He suffered a very serious shoulder injury in mid-July.
The injury was so serious that at the time it was feared he wouldn't ever play football again. At 28 and out of contract with a long period of rehab with a very uncertain outcome, the club did what was in the club's best interest. The fact that Mick Barlow managed to overcome the bad luck gods, again, and play at AFL level again is testament to his courage and commitment.
As for Matty, I just scratch my head. I have one of his match worn jumpers on my wall and give it, and Matty, a toast every game day in remembrance of better times.

Haggers gets fed rumours from Brad Hardie & Colin Young. Need more players on Colins roster to jump ship to TLA.

Probably, but Baz really pumps him up as the best in the business...they even have a borrowed jingle where they sing "Haggers" over the top of an intro to his segment.

Bwucie just mentioned a player's "tummy" :D

Anyone got the article starting with Another Loss??
Its in the west coke australian, but if you read a bit more it says we are debt free?
We haven't made a loss for years, so they are just giving us a rib tickler for click bait.
