Daniels was on that mid-week Eagles pre-match discussion with Embley and Gossage on their website in 2019.

I watched it bits of it to determine just how much of an Eagles supporter Gossage was (as he will always say that he's a St Kilda supporter when he gets some backlash from Fremantle fans about being an Eagles supporter when he posts crap about Fremantle on Twitter). On that show, they would all regularly refer to the Eagles as their team - eg: how are "we" going to line up this week.

More than just media professionalism for the Eagles fans that it was made for - one ex-player, alongside two genuine fans. But I agree, Daniels seems pretty fair and just reports what he observes.

The fact there's genuine ambiguity over who Daniels goes for can only be a good thing. That's a very, VERY rare trait for a WA-based footy journo.

That really shits me about Gossage. The only time he talks about Freo is when we have an injury or a possible suspension (ie "uh-oh player X should be in trouble for that one") every time we win he all of a sudden becomes interested in other sports. He may be a Saints supporter as he claims, but as far as I'm concerned, he's a knows Freo hater.

Off topic, what’s up with all these hot sports reporters being Freo supporters? Amberley Lobo, Kath Loughnan, Neroli Meadows and Abbey Gelmi are all mad Freo supporters.

I find it highly doubtful that they can afford to re-sign Cripps (prob 1mill per season or so) and also pay Cerra 750k.

Plus will have to have money to extend Walsh, McKay etc etc.

if Cerra leaves, I’d be very surprised if it was to Carlton.

Typical garbage journalism. Opens with a salvo suggesting Carlton is offering him 750k per year. Then later it states that it is Fremantle offering him 750k, and Carlton's offer is less and more like 675-700k per year.

Someone definitely said it on here but I've listened to the "hard ball gets" podcast enough times where I'm pretty certain he has said several times he's a Freo supporter. Regardless, he is so far ahead of any other journalist we've had in this state for so long (no offense Duff but Daniels is ahead by a fair margin) that its incredibly refreshing. Guy is top tier and will have a long, successful career I imagine.

I love him, and he will...unless he continues to call the VFL what it is, then the AFLuminati might revoke his journalism rights! Lol
