Yep. The club tried to rigg the vote to get him the captaincy after Pav but Mundy won the vote. The club then took if off Mundy and gave it to Fyfe the following year. Lyon is on record saying he regrets this.

You think he is approachable by the players 30-40 on the list?

Fyfe is on record of not knowing his teammates names. FACT.

I’m bamboozled with all these knives aimed at Fyfe. Not saying he’s the greatest captain ( can still improve heaps with his leadership ), but geez, he does lead from the front. Credit where credit is due.

I agree, I don't think Fyfe should be captain. He's not a leader of men. Great player sure but the two are often confused.

I'm not trying to knife him, at all. I love Fyfe. I was just responding to posters having a whinge that Cornes didn't rate him a great captain. Cause he isn't great.

This. I’ve been saying this. Luke Ryan is the first player to fight when sticking up for teammates on field. The Whole playing list love him, he hangs out with everybody. The only reason I don’t think he will do it is because he hates media work.

Luke Ryan did a presser at the start of the year and let slip that Taberner was injured when the club tried to hide it. Lol

If Fyfe isn't captain material then Luke Ryan is miles off captain material, maybe in banter and backing up the boys getting niggled etc but he wouldn't be capable of having the hard conversations with team mates imo, and his physical preparation seems to be a fair way off too quite the opposite of Fyfe's high dietary standards.

Honestly, does everyone remember all the players names. What was the first name of Howson or Wilson-King or Roberts. Or if you knew their first name, would you be 100% on what their surname was.

It's not hard to compare when you have the great man in Pav as who he replaced* (I also didn't rate Mundy as a captain but he's definitely turned that perception around int he last couple of years).

Without watching the vid that sounds more like self-deprecating comments reflecting on how much he's grown. And probably not intended to be taken too literally I'd imagine.
