In 2007 we finished 7th or 6th and played absolouty bad football leading up to the finals. We lost to Richmond who won just two games for the year. We made the prelim that year and got within 5 Points of Geelong. So even if we lose to the dogs next week we cant say thats it we cant make the grand final and that we are pretenders. We play our last 7 games at the MCG so we should win a fair bit. As long as we make the top 4 who gives a f**k about the Brisbane or the St killda games that we lost this year. I have learnt this year that as long as we win enough games to make the top 4 and not play interstate i dont care how many we win or lose. Its the finals that matter and my opinion on us winning the flag has not changed at all in the past two weeks.

It's not so much losing it's losing with playing the way we do ie wide slow boundary hugging gameplan, long bombs to 2v1, plodders that lack skills getting games, not protecting the corridor, lack of positional experimentation when to get players in the game, soft players not putting there body on the line and players getting exposed when having to play on some1.

10+ years and we see the same under lying faults that come back to bite us on the arse.

CWilson had a article on The Age site today bagging Aker. The poll and the comments were running Aker's way and then the story got harder to find before disappearing altogether!

I wonder if someone has told her that she's writing about AFL not a Sex and the City gossip column? Her style is bloody annoying.

Exactly - that was a hateful article. What purpose did it serve? And I wanted to read about the footy.

Yer true thats the thing that pisses me off coz in some games we win we dont play that wide and move the ball quick and less long bombs but then in some games we play the complete oposite i dunno if its the coach or the players. Clokes bombs inside 50 have been pissing me off in the last two games, hopefully that will change in the upcoming weeks.

Sorry, forgot to comment on thread topic.:p

Anyway - I'm bloody annoyed that we'll most likely drop to third on the ladder as a result of some bad decisions, on field and off, and a seeming lack of our characteristic pressure.

But taking the longer view, if we can regroup, renew our resolve and win against the Bulldogs, it won't be a disaster.

Yeh, we need to stay ahead of Freeo..I know our interstate record is good but a flying feeo in Subiaco come finals, in front of all those ferrals.....don't even want to think about it!

Relax, the ladder positions will change plenty of times we are not even at the halfway mark of the season and i would love to play Freo first week of finals because they have never one a finals game and we will have the upper hand mentaly and i dont rate them as a great side but playing them at the MCG would be much better.

Caroline Wilson can't keep her ugly mouth shut :o, Anyways good luck to you boys ( But not to much) All we want is a win, We want respect and belief back from our boys and im sure you guys want a win to be up there with Geelong again so for either team its to win the respect of their supporters.

Cheers

That should be our side if we want to get anywhere close to the finals, none of this Macaffer/Obree/Toovey/Wood/Reid Sh()t

MM needs to get it through his thick head that favouritism does not work and it's all about selection/positioning and maintaining the kick up into the forward 50.

If we don't win against the bulldogs and show convincingly that we still can go up against the best, then we can kiss Geelong/St.Kilda good bye until 2011
i really like this team
