What would you say out of the 11 is the most and least important spot to fill. Id say

Most important - Attacking CM - IMO its the reason a team like Tottenham cant get into the top 4 and is the reason a team like Arsenal is on top of the table. Last season West Ham played without a attacking CM all year. We had a DCM and a box to box defensive midfielder and we struggled badly because of it. Its fair to say atm Fabregas is the sole reason Arsenal are first and its fair to say the poor start by Scholes and the abscence of Lampard is a large part of the reason those two teams are struggling to score goals

Least important - Left Wing - Probably the last position most teams try to fill hence the lack of quality left wingers especially in the EPL. Alot of LW are pretty much right footed players just thrown onto the other side. Most LW i find are inconsistent and have alot more trouble because the quality of right backs worldwide is pretty high especially when compared to the quality of left backs

A goalkeeper might be important?

Edit: If Liverpool played with a dodgy goal keeper, they'd concede goals, even with arguably the best (first choice) back four in the league. Having Reina who is a good goal keeper with said back four, means we hardly concede goals.

Manchester City are riding their luck with Kasper in goals, when he has an off day, City will concede 5 or 6, all will be his fault because he's a poor goal keeper (at this stage).

I think you can get through with a weak(ish) goal keeper, as long as the back four is good/restricting the amount of shots the goal keeper has to save.

Second Edit: Having a good attacking midfielder is very important, one with an eye for a pass, but if he has a poor striker/not a clinical finisher, the good through balls he plays may go to waste. I think the most important position is the striker, you need someone who is going to score you goals, a quality finisher/good movement/with pace. (Yes, Tottenham defy this because they don't have a good attacking midfielder, so therefore, you need both, so both are equally as important)

I think the least important position is none, there isn't a non-important position on the field, if you have one weak link in your side, that's the difference between winning and losing, every team will try and field the best team possible, however as Embers stated, in England, the least important position is probably the left-wing, as he also stated, this shows in the lack of quality in that position from the teams in the league.

Fabregas is the sole reason Arsenal are first

I assume that means you think Arsenal are a one man team? Cesc is excellent, imho the best in the world at the moment, but he has plenty of mates.

Back to the topic. All positions are important. Can't win if you don't score so striker is most important. Can't lose if you don't concede so goalkeeper is second most important. A creative goal scoring midfielder certainly assists in challenging for a title.

Most: Goalkeeper
Least: Fullback

When are we ever going to credit as a whole team?

The unbeaten team was all Henry, apparently.

When you have a bloke playing THAT well then its bound to happen. You should take it as a compliment to Fabregas talents. I wouldnt sell him for 50 mill

Most: Goalkeeper, you can have the best defence in the world but if you have a crap GK then there is no point. Case in point watch Adelaide United at the moment. Defence is not that bad but they have no confidence in the muppet in goals.

Least: Assistant coaches. Seriously wtf do half of them do really?

Well, for the most part, assistants are the ones who actually coach the team during trainings and whatnot. Pat Rice has led Arsenal training sessions for the last eleven years, Wenger just watches.

OK I should have phrased that better I didn't mean the number two coach but these days you look at a bench and there are more coaches than subs!
