It was due to Ricky's intelligence that we lost the ashes, and if it wasn't for Gilly (who is far superior in smarts) Ricky would have lost to India previous.

I still can't believe Gilly wasn't made captain, nobody deserved it more!!
Must say I agree.

Australia A won the first final in that series did they not? Then Australia called up Reiffel, who was on fire, to be 12th man to avoid embarassment.

yeah you're right about the conspiracy theory but it was 4 nil to the first team in the 4 games between oz and oz "a". no doubt about that.

Going back to 1979/80 (ie post Packer)...
The least competative year was 1999/2000 and 2000/01 - we only lost 1 ODI in each season(the 2000/01 was at the Dome in Aug, and some might call it the 2000 season, not the 2000/01 season).

2002/03 and 04/05 each had 2 losses.
This year was 18 wins, 3 losses and a draw.

So, not even close to the most uncompetitive summer this decade.

Don't be fooled by the one dayers going into a 3rd game. Was this the most uncompetitive summer ever? Especially in the tests where the West Indians and South Africans didn't really give a yelp and we showed our dominance? England might be tougher in the ashes next year which will be good to give us a contest but I still expect us to win and hope we thrash them. I love us winning but the lack of fight and courage from the opposition was disappointing.

we? us? i thought you were a Pom?
