Me too, I will listen to almost anything. My iPod has Ghostface Killah/Rachmaninov/Mashrou Leila/Behemoth/Melody Gardot/Jai Paul/Alice Coltrane/Schubert/Nas/School Boy Q/Serge Gainsbourg - Everything!

i was born in 73, my first cassette was "thriller" so probably a case of being a bit younger and buying the wrong records.

So I'm a bit tired, and probably the reason I completely forgot about one of the very few great bands of the past 10 years...

i would say you're more musically diverse than me as the hardest albums rock wise on my ipod is qotsa.

Yeah the drugs were a part of the problem.
But not because he couldn't write.

They wanted more 'california girls' type stuff.
That's where they thought the money was.
Where as Brian wanted to make better music.

• Happiness Is A Warm Gun
• Here Comes The Sun
• Come Together - Monkeys covering this at the 2012 London Closing Ceremony was pretty perfect
• Got to Get You Into My Life
• Penny Lane
• While My Guitar Gently Weeps - George is probably my favourite. Quietly a genius, and a bit of a babe.
• Yellow Submarine
• Twist and Shout (Ferris Bueller's Day Off scene, so good)

The fun thing about The Beatles is they create a lot of discussion around their best songs.

I think my favourite songs by them is heavily influenced by the stuff I listen to now.

I adore "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "Eleanor Rigby".

did you get the edition with the liner notes with comments from brian and the beatles on each song?

may have to listen to it again as i thought the lyrics were about getting laid, but could well be wrong.
