A game that will always stick in my head is

Richmond v Collingwood must be 3 or 4 years ago......

Raines put a huge hit on Pendlebury. It was pissing down rain, and my brother (collingwood fan) got me tickets for a birthday present....SUCKER.

Was that the same game that Newman broke his leg??

Only had time to watch bits of Richmond Fabulous Footy Flashbacks volume 1 last night.

An update of contents is:

1958 Round 3 Richmond vs St.Kilda at Punt Road Oval
1972 Second Semi v Carlton (draw)
1973 Preliminary Final v Collingwood (6 goals down at halftime and a 16 y.o. Rene Kink running around. He must have weighed about 110kgs:eek:)
1982 Round 3 v Essendon (62 point win - Tigers at their best from when I was a young fella).

Rex Hunt does abit of lead-in commentary. All games include most of the last quarter when the game is getting interesting. There's no highlights from earlier quarters, just straight into the action and they dont stop till the games finished. I think the latter footage is from Sevens Big League.

All in all, for $10 not a bad spend.

Will try and watch Vol.2 tonight and let you know what it's like. Couldn't believe the blurb on the DVD didn't even mention the 1958 game on Vol.1).

Pretty sure this was Round 19, 2007

Our 2nd win out of 3 for the year, we won 116-96 and Deledio kicked 5 goals.

Just about to buy a couple of Name A Game DVD's, thought I would bump this for those who also need a good fix of Richmond over the summer.

Only negative is that they cost a fortune. $34.95 for a crappy old DVD. Worth it though just to have 3-4 of your favourite games from the last couple of decades on stand-by should you get a sudden craving.

I'm getting:

Richo's 10 vs Bulldogs in 2004
First Semi Final vs Carlton in 2001

I'd recommend the game in 2006, Round 9 at Geelong. Great game, where all the pressure was on Geelong after a dissapointing start to the season, Hyde kicked 4 goals, Cogs was outstanding. Luckily I have it on DVD already.

As has been mentioned the Carlton game in '97 (I think?) at Optus was a great game. The come back wins against Hawthorn in recent times and the close games we've had with the Dogs, aswell as the draw and semi final vs Essendon would have to be looked at for anyone after great games of the last 20 years.

Also that "Richmond Fabulous Footy Flashbacks volume 1 + 2" for $9.95 is great value and worth getting at that price.

The scoreboard ablaze game was 1999 (don't think it was the last round either, not even sure we won), the Richo 10 game was 2004.

IIRC we lost by a point or two.

I was just looking at the name a game website and man are they are rip.

$34.95 for a dvd plus $7 bucks postage.

$41.95 for one DVD.

I bought the Richmond GF collectors pack for $50 which has 5 dvds in it.

 I guess you don't have much choice if you want to watch those old games.

It wouldn't have been 1999, as they made the finals, and Grand Final, that year.

i was actually thinking the same thing, but in 1997 we did beat carlton by 2 points in round 22, to knock carlton out. He must have meant that year.
and 1999, we did beat carlton in round 22 by 11 points, but regardless of that result, they still would have made made the 8th though.
ahh also, the guy who created this thread, i thought it was a Port Adelaide supporter, but only realised moments later that was the Port Adelaide player we received, in Mitch Farmer

Yep huge rip off.

IMO they should have regular season games cheaper, put the price up for finals games.

Saw that GF collectors pack.. very nice. Unfortunately I already bought the 5 DVDs separately. Hate when that happens..

Haha until he's photographed in a Tigers uniform thats all I've got :D

Can't believe no-one has mentioned this one!

Can't remember when it was but we smashed the dogs in the libba/knights revenge death match purple monkey dishwasher.

:p

I can remember a game against Geelong a few years ago now at the MCG when previous to this they would spank us and Johnny Howat clean up Barnes on the flank in front of the interchange. Ablett (snr) got moved on to the ball I think as well. I'm getting old. We won easily. That game in '82 against the Dons that we won by 62pt's I was at and I think we were about equal at 3/4 time too, I think we had a 10 goal last Q.:thumbsu: Rioli was a gun

that game sounds awesome. but how rare is it to see a team about equal at 3/4 time and win by 10 goals this present time.

Hey Matthew, I have drank a fair bit of beer since then so some one else may like to confirm those results, But I'm confident....:thumbsu: Go Tiges

Not sure what year the first game was, can't remember gary ablett snr playing at all.
but 2nd game, Richmond vs Essendon, 1982, Crowd= 90,564
Rich 4.7.31 12.14.86 15.18.108 25.22.172
Ess 6.3.39 12.9.81 14.13.97 16.14.110

So you were right, about Richmond's 10 goal last quarter.

In the spirit of this thread, was just a Rebel Sports and picked up Richmond Fabulous Footy Flashbacks Vol.1 & 2 for $9.99 each.

Volume 1
1972 Second Semi v Carlton
1973 Preliminary Final
1982 Round 3 v Essendon (62 point win)

Volume 2
1967 Round 14 v Fitzroy
1986 Round 8 last quarter v Sydney Swans (1 point win)
1995 Second Semi Final v Essendon (we all know this one!)

www.finalsiren.com doesn't have results pre-1980 so I'm not sure what the scores were in the others.

Each DVD is only 90 minutes long so must be the highlights.

I'll have a look at them tonight and let everyone know what the quality is like.

I've got volume 2-
in 1967,rd 14 richmond beat fitzroy 67-58 infront of 13,677 at Princess Park
1995- Against essendon, they show the 3rd quarter.

Overall, it's a average video but they need a new one.

Rd 1 2002 v Collingwood

We smashed em, sat atop the ladder and we all thought we were heading to a flag...

Still, Richo was probaly at his best from the goal square with 6, Ottens with 4, the twin towers could not be stopped
