Prediction The Negative Thread

With the recent wave of negative threads, I thought I would do the mods a favour and make one big thread for people to vent all their negative feelings about Richmond into, thus clearing up the other threads.

Think we will miss finals and finish 9th? Adamant we will at best trade our first 3 picks + Deledio for Jack Watts? Determined to believe the last 2 years of finals are evidence of another false dawn? Well this is the thread for you!

I dont think anyone here is overly negative. I suppose i dont see a need for the thread.

I think 95% of posters would agree, since 2009 we have improved both on and off field. I think what could or should be debated is the pace of improvement. Is it really overly negative to simply think we are not as far advanced as most think we are.

I also think those of us who are negative actually acknowledge the improvement. We dont think we have improved enough to challenge for a premiership any time soon and think we are a farther away than others who are optimistic.

Then theres the players themselves. Some think any one who pulls a tiger jumper on are all right. Others see weaknesses and expect them to be improved upon over time. We all see different things in players, the simple question for me is how hard is it to improve on players we have.

Personally i like to think of the negative side as people who often throw out constructive criticism.

I dont get it what is wrong with not agreeing we are a top side. Instead thinking we are still a middling side 6 - 12 With a lot of changes to be made or (IMPROVEMENTS) to become a genuine challenger.

Lets be optimistic and say a premiership in three yrs time. In three off seasons we will turn over close to 20 players if not more. We had want to hope 30 - 40% of those players we bring in are damn fine players.

The fact is, Hawthorn went from priority picks to a flag in the space of four years (notwithstanding this ludicrous thing that people have come up with that it was some kind of 'bonus' flag that should be overlooked in order to spin it out to nine years before they won a 'real' flag). At the same time, Footscray went from priority picks to multiple preliminary finals appearances. We, on the other hand, have done nothing in almost 11 years.
