I wouldnt get to carried away with Walsh, i mean what has he done? would you have been as glowing on Walsh when he left West Coast last year having achieved very little with a midfield group that had underachieved. Personally i think Basset is the best coach but the AFC is to scared to give him the wheel in fear of crashing it. He might be a great coach but i would never select anyone that hadnt coached a team in their own right because the most important aspect in coaching is getting the players to play as a team, you can show me all the presentations that you like but i would rather just look at the record. Anyway good luck if he is your guy but dont let the glory of Ken cloud your vision.

That's because this thread is made up of Norwood fans who have been pushing Bass for years and a list that every Club comes up with, Dew, Tudor, Burns, Suma the only name missing out of that dross is Hinkley because he finally got a job.

The Club said the supporters would be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised by any of the names in the poll above. Walsh would surprise anyone. Walsh is a first class football person. This thread hasn't put up Paul Roos as an option either but I'd like him here.

I hate Norwood. I wanted Bassett.

the waiting game will come to an end.....

Roo should have a look at this thread. He might announce it strait away to save us all

money money money...
but elements from the styles of Sydney, Fremantle, Hawthorn, Port & Geelong,

Money is a moot point if you can't get released from your current contract which still has two years to run

Not to mention a skills coach is not going to pay higher than a Snr Asst at a GF club

Like I said let's keep it real

Too many rumours flying around that I imagine are a long way from the truth. I doubt the Crows have ruled a line through anyone, nor is any single applicant so convinced he has the job he's house hunting already.

think there was according to rowey last night lol

I'm not yet passing any judgements on the ruling out of Bassett, except to say that, we better have an absolute ******* jet lined up.

And I think I speak for around 90% of supporters when I say that.

If we end up with a dud and Bassett is coaching somewhere in three years to critical acclaim, there won't be enough chicken shit in the southern hemisphere to fire up the number of dump trucks that will be outside West Lakes.
Honestly, I think Bass will make an excellent Senior AFL coach one day.... but not yet. Plus, many people here based their endorsement of him on having to rebuild "culture". I dont actually think we have a player culture issue at the club... the virus has been in the admin, which we have now hopefully fixed with a Board shake up and someone who seems to be a solid CEO choice.

We need a coach who can get the players to buy in to a system, with a system that fits our list. circa Craig 2005, not Craig 2010. I dont know who that is, but I hope they find him.

Generally happens when a bloke turns around a club, wins it two premierships and a legacy of winning a third in a row against a loaded Port team. He wouldn't have got much love had he led Norwood to 7th in 3 out of 4 years. No one here's really hoping we can lure Trevor Hill from his job coaching St Peter's Old Collegians :D

FFS delusions of grand eau much.

What we have here an internet forum for one club with say around current 200 members at a stretch. Yet the football club has over 50,000 members most who wouldn't even know that this even in existence. But 90% of 50K plus want Bassett?

Get a grip on reality man.

2.The Club said the supporters would be surprised.
3.Walsh would surprise anyone.
4.Walsh is a first class football person.

1. A ridiculous exaggeration that barely deserves a response.
2. Did they? CE78 and rowey have said that but I cant recall the club saying it. source?
3. Its not actually a surprise contest you know? Theres no premiership points being handed out for surprising people.
4. Who isn't? when their name comes up? Bassett isn't a first class football person? sanderson was considered first class too. Dew is first class. Bolton's amazing.

Look ive got no problem with walsh if he's the right guy. Just seems strange the amount of manlove suddenly going on when the dude hadn't been mentioned that's all. More importantly at the end of the day he's just another untried coach at this stage. and a port one to boot.

Can everyone just calm down for a moment. Preferably several moments at least.

And if that Club he turned around was South or West who have been traditional and cultural basket cases compared to the likes of Norwood with their culture and resources I'd rate the achievement higher again.

I think Bass is one of the few State league coaches that can take the next step. But it's a massive jump. He needs more years in the AFL coaching system.

If the general BF consensus ran the club for the last 3-4 years, we'd be in much better shape.

Mind you, that's not saying much. We're a rabble.
