I really hope it is Walsh. He is exactly the sort of hard nut we need.

What I like about it is this is highly likely to be his only shot head coaching, so he can have a take no prisoners attitude. Doesn't have to worry about keeping options open for future coaching opportunities.

Port are a stepping stone club.

You do your time there to gain experience and move on. Happened to them in 2004 and is now happening again. This time without any success.

Whoever they get to replace Walsh will be a head coach in 2016. Unless it is Bicks or Campo.

Is this guy actually any good? Don't know anything about him
From what I gather he is a bit like Baiely.

Been around a long time, main skill is as a tactician and going by what Tredrea a d Kane Cornes has said great one on one coach as well and not afraid to tell it how it is. Whether that translates into being a great Head Coach....no one can answer that now.

You serious??

And doesn't that apply to most players at most clubs only 2 years into their career??

Blind Freddy himself could see Gunston had all the tools and ability to be a top notcher. I'm absolutely convinced he would have had the very same trajectory had he remained a Crow, nothing wrong with the AFC's record at developing KPP, if they've got it we get it out of them.
Absolutely - I agree that he could've been great here too, but the post I was replying to was talking about our players being high-profile and leaving at their peak. Gunston was certainly not at his peak - but that doesn't mean I'm happy about him leaving.

your missing my point.
Im assuming all of those guys had head coaching aspirations. My claim is Phil Walsh probably doesn't. He certainly hasn't had any over the last 16 years. How many of the above coaches were overpaid to convince them to take their first head coaching job?
Gotta say I'm a little bit excited about the prospect of not being totally whacked in the box each week on game-day.

A coach that is described as a brilliant tactician? I can hardly wait :-)
Our last 2 coaches need some time under him.....

I'm wondering if we will still bomb it in high to Betts
