Has anyone got any footage of this match? Round 22 1999, Friday night, Tiges vs Carlton. Ray Hall's debut. If you were there, were you one of those who were forced onto the ground?

Was so long ago I can't remember if I was there or watching it on tv
I certainly remember seeing it live but not sure in what form

Was there at Waverley when the lights went out, but that wasn't a Richmond match

I was there. Must admit I was sitting in the MCC Members and, when the people ran onto the ground, old Wing Commander was yelling for them not to jump the fence into the members. Tongue in cheek I hope.

I was there.. it was amazing stuff. I jumped on the ground at the Punt Road End, wandered to the other end for a closer look, then parked myself front row of the AFL members on the wing to watch the game.

I remember the players warming up on the ground while the scoreboard was burning and they were all turning around to each other going "WTF.. surely we're not going to start the game with the scoreboard on fire!"

Yeah, i was there and I had to go onto the ground. We were wondering what all the fuss was about, thought it was just a bit of smoke from a flare or something. Didn't see what was happening until we were on the ground. Got a great seat on the wing, drank plenty and I think we even won!

Benny Gale had a big game that night from memory.
I used to work as a Gate attendant at the G and their was a knobhead italian security guard no one liked. (He was like an Italian version of David Brent, goatee and all, he was always walking around like he was THE MAN!!!! ) Anyway ground staff and security were instructed not to go up near the fire until the firies and ambos had. He tried to be a hero and headed up there before the firemen arrived. I remember clearly the vision on Cahennel 7 of him sitting in the back of the ambulance being treated for smoke inhalation. Knob of the highest order (not as big a knob as James Brayshaw or Liam Pickering but pretty big).
