What’s to stop the EU from hiring mercenaries? Or Ukraine themselves using the billions the West is giving them?

Or a coalition of ex special forces with Ukrainian decent from around the world. Or anybody that doesn’t like Russia for that matter.

As long as the Ukrainians control the west they will be resupplied with more than just weapons.

Bless the Poles. They've set up evacuation centres just inside their border to receive the so far 368,000 families (I say families as it's primarily women and children) and Polish citizens are coming from everywhere with their vehicles, and bringing these people to their homes or other safe residences. Some Polish citizens are also crossing the border into Ukraine to help fight.

If there's ever a country that could identify with what Ukraine is enduring right now, it's Poland. God bless them. What a beautiful people. Talk about good neighbours.

I had a chance to spend some time in Wroclaw and Krakow in 2019. I adore that country, and the people are so down to earth there. It's weird, but I felt very at home there.

Tell them if I was there I'd buy them all some Lody for their kindness!

It is good, but let’s not forget they refused entry to Syrian refugees only a couple of months ago.

I don't think the west/nato will do anything besides funding and equipment. We are all cheering Ukraine on and they are showing incredible bravery, but when push comes to shove, the world will just watch them get swamped.

I think putin backs down soon.

China is too smart to fight the world over Ukraine. They’ll pull him into line.

I did love the talk from China today about not using sanctions to solve problems. I think about 6 Australian industries disagree and would point out your hypocrisy

Ukraine in talks right now with Russia. Ukrainian delegation includes people with experience in advising its Ministry of Defense, as one would expect for this type of situation. Russia has sent its Minister of Culture.

Zelensky now releasing some prisoners so they can fight.
