Someone please, I'm knew so don't dis me, why is North known as Norf on here?
Derogatory reference to the socio-economic status of Norfern Melbournians implying the inability to pronounce "th" properly. As a long time resident Norf of the Yarra, I claim it as a badge of honour.

Worth noting that it is frowned upon on some boards - a bit like "Carlscum" etc - OK for the Bay, not so good on team boards (especially the club involved, where you'll probably cop an infraction!).

Yeah, yet for some reason people on the main board are free to say "Crazy Vossy derp derp" and call us the Bears in a pejorative manner.

Does time start running on free agency from when a rookie first starts with the club or when they are permanently elevated to the senior list?

ie For FA purposes, is Hanley in his 5th or 3rd year?

dlanod - any idea? I assume it includes their time as a rookie...

From memory it is seven years at a certain club in any playing capacity.

No idea POBT, but for whatever reason I was quite confident of Hanley re-signing after reading an article a couple of weeks ago on the subject, however one comment on that video about leaving it to his manager (Paul Connors IIRC) now has me concerned. Sure, Pearce has made all of the right noises and I've never heard anything to the contrary, but the fact Paul Connors is involved in his contract negotiations concerns me greatly.

Rookie years count. Don't know the rules but after a bit of digging (God knows why I do that), Nathan Lovett-Murray was an unrestricted free agent last year with the Bombers after nine years with them - two as a rookie but only seven on a senior list. If it was just senior years, he would've only qualified this year, after a full eight.
